Guérande salt marshes have been labelled "Remarkable Site of Taste" since 1996 and are an exceptional place of world heritage. These 2000 hectares of salt marshes extend between Le Croisic and Mesquer. It is estimated that there are today near 250 paludiers harvesting about 12,000 tons of salt each year. Come and discover all these supernatural mirrors where water and salt blend, as an eternal reflection of time and nature.

A lunar landscape

Going as a minibus from La Baule, you will be accompanied by an expert professional guide who will take you to the discovery of Guérande's salt marshes. In one traditional paludier village , you will be able to walk a unique trip of its kind to the heart of salt marshes. Throughout your visit, your guide will explain the different stages of the development of Guérande salt , will give you further information on the operation of a saline, on the work of the paludier as a general rule and you will discover how salt and salt flower are harvested. With a mosaic of special colors, Guérande's salt marshes offer unreal, grandiose landscapes, yet shaped by the hand of man For centuries.

Salt marshes enjoy a history but also a very strong identity; it is a wetland that has many regulatory protections and global recognitions for their ecological value. This is why, accompanied by a naturalist guide often, you will be able to observe and listen to the diversity of the wildlife of salt marshes but above all to discover this “white gold” that is the salt of Guérande.

An extraordinary site where biodiversity is close to a raw nature, a site however linked to the activity of the paludiers who come to harvest the flower of salt and the big salt as it was done in the past. Indeed, here the highest technology remains the Brouette to ride freely on clay soil in the heart of the marshes.

It should be noted that the price of this cultural and historical tour obviously includes visits to the Guérande salt marshes but also the transfer of air-conditioned minibuses from La Baule as well as the services and comments of an attendant or professional guide.

Finally, there are two departures per day that take place in the morning (9h) and early afternoon (14h00), every day except Tuesday and Friday. Be present about 15 minutes before departure to validate participations. Transport minibus from La Baule only allows 8 people each time, so you should first learn about the different availability. Finally, the visit will be commented by an attendant in French, English or Spanish.
