Since the casks are not very large, they walk just, they dandinent almost and it is not always easy to observe them or to have sufficient height. To enjoy this amazing and stunting show of tenderness, a podium has been built so that you can attend this show without disturbing them or even disturbing them. The parade is unique because the manchots are all expected to leave the water and then they start walking by small groups. They're pushing light cries that will certainly wait for you.
Be careful, not to dazzle them and not to bother them in their “walk”, it is strictly forbidden to take them in pictures, especially because of the flash that would scare them more than anything else.
Paying to see punks?
Like any attraction, parade of manchots attracts the crowds and, therefore, some people benefit from it. However, parade is really something special. Manchots are set like clocks and come back from fishing at a very precise hour (about 21h). There's even a countdown so that's accurate. As mentioned above, it is one of Melbourne’s flagship attractions, and the price of the visit (about €90) includes all day spent on the island + transportation with guide. Think about taking a puul/gilet for the evening.
