Underwater diving
1. Pont d’En Gil

The Pont d’En Gil is located close to the city Ciutadella . This spot is one of the best on the island and is perfect for diving in Minorca.
Finally, it is best to be experienced: access to the site is 14 meters deep and in darkness. The Pont d’En Gil is a cave, the most beautiful underwater cavity of the Balearic Islands.
You can access a gigantic room full of air where to admire, on several hundred meters, stalactites and stalagmites. A beautiful show to be reserved for experienced divers!
2. Es Caragol

Es Caragol is a few minutes' drive from Cala Torret, near Sant Lluis southeast of Minorca. The spot is located in the Isla del Aire Marine Reserve , an ideal area for diving in Minorca.
It is the second marine reserve of Minorca: this small island of about 45 hectares is appreciated for the wealth of its seabeds. Es Caragol is a dreaded reef of browsers: you can observe remains of bad craft. It also presents a large geological variety and many fishes... A must, certainly!
3. The wreck of Malakoff

Near Ciutadella, southwest of the island between the Es Talaier creek and Son Saura beach, you will find a boat... French. In January 1929, the Malakoff a freighter struck rocks and sombra at a depth of 40 meters.
Over a hundred meters the freighter is today a real artificial reef welcoming a unique fauna. Dive it is virevolting in the middle of merous and placid sea eels.
Our advice? Enjoy your trip to the area to visit Ciutadella, a picturesque town where it makes a good walk.
4. Cap d’Artrutx

Near the wreck of Malakoff, the Cap d’Artrutx is a nice diving site. Close to the splendid lighthouse of the same name (starting once out of the water), its submarines are full of life.
Small caves house corals, seaweeds, anemones and can sometimes be admired there. Ideal for a troupe of beginner divers, the Cap d’Artutx is a must for those who wish to initiate this activity.
Easily accessible from Ciutadella, it does not even require any technical prerequisites. Put on palms and combinations and throw yourself in the water!
5. Reserve of Cala Viola

Welcome to the splendid small port of Fornells! It is worth a visit alone: typical of the Balearic Islands, it is one of the most beautiful in the archipelago. It owes its reputation to its small fishing boats and its preserved environment.
Moreover, the reserve of Cala Viola , very close, is a famous site to dive to Minorca. It includes sumptuous reefs sheltering thousands of fish. With luck you will see rays between six and fourteen meters deep. Boats are unsuccessful on both sides of the reserve: now they serve as a fireplace...
6. La Catedral Cave (Cap d’En Font)

No, there is no place of underwater worship in the Balearic Islands. But Cave of La Catedral , one of the largest of the island, remains no less a dive site in legendary and mystical Minorca!
With a maximum depth of 22 meters, it is a must for lovers of immersion. After crossing a rocky arch monumental, you will reach a room filled with air.
Natural light gives it to the stalactites that dominate you on an almost unreal or even threatening side? No panic, you are in total safety: the spot is suitable for all levels and perfect for learning to the joys of diving.
7. Junker-88 aircraft wreckage

Your stay started with a successful landing at Mahón Airport? So you were more likely than the occupants of this Junker-88 . This plane of the German Air Force fell to Minorca on 24 February 1943 between S’Algar and Alcaufar.
The crew was rescued by local fishermen! Today, the wreck is 47 metres below the surface. You can access the latter by coming to Minorca diving. However, the depth of the site requires an experience of the environment and specific patents.

8. Cala Macarella

The snorkeling is the minimalist dive: palms, mask, tuba, and that’s all. To try this activity and make snorkeling in Minorca, we recommend you go to the beach in Macarella .
Emblemished on the southern coast of Menorca, its white sand, cliffs and turquoise waters made it a must. This creek and especially its rocky walls include small caves to explore a few meters from the surface.
You will admire sea stars, anemones, crustaceans and multicolored fish. All wave to their occupations in the middle of moving posidies and a pleasant water of May to October .
9. Fornells Reserve

Where to make snorkeling in Minorca near the pretty fishing village Fornells ? In the heart of the Marine Reserve of the North of Menorca, created in 1999 and classified at UNESCO!
You will take a boat approach to this exceptional site, you will also be able to favour the sports version by renting a kayak. At the foot of the cliffs, less than a meter of depth, you can then contemplate barracudas, crowned serioles, murenas, octopuses and mules... A wonderful show in perspective!
10. Cala Tamarells

Near Mahon, the main city of the island, Cala Tamarells is a favorable site where to make snorkeling in Minorca. It is a wild beach, totally preserved and difficult to reach: it’s simple, you only get on foot.
Oriented to the east and protected from the swell by a small island, this spot is taken from divers. Only with palms and tubas, you can admire caves, fissures, coral algae, sars and saupes. The watertight camera is a must to immortalize your visit!
