1. Cahors Market (Lot)

Traditional market with local producers: Wednesday and Saturday morning

In the city Out. , the market has been set up for 700 years in the heart of the city, at the foot of the Saint-Etienne Cathedral. The latter is ranked Unsco under the Santiago de Compostela . Extending around Chapou Square, this open-air market has multicolored stands. Hold your ear to hear the singing accent of the country and taste typical local specialties.

If you are not on the spot on the open market day, go down on the covered hall. You will also find what to enjoy among the cheeses (miam le Rocamadour !) and southwest charcuterie. Don't leave without having tasted Pastis, famous apple cake marinated in the old plum.

2. Marché de Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (Tarn-et-Garonne)

35km from Montauban, in the gorges of the Aveyron , the market of Saint-Antonin offers the best products of Rouergue. In the center of the medieval city, you will be in direct contact with the local producer and its culinary know-how. This is probably the most typical of the Occitania markets.

Specialities of magrets and foie gras, pork fritons, truffles, honey and other raw delights are to be discovered on the stalls of the merchants. After the market, it is good to sit down on the terrace on the Place de la Halle by contemplating the sculptures of the Maison Romane.

3. Revel Market (Haute-Garonne)

The central hall of the village of Revel dates back to the 14th century. It is in this place full of history that you can provide you with regional products every Saturday. Come on. Nimes and Cevennes , the Place aux Herbes, surrounded by arcades, becomes the beating heart of the city of Uzès when its market animates. 8. Market Carcassonne (Aude)

It is in the heart of the city, on Carnot Square, that the colourful stands of the Carcassonne market spread out. Three times a week, Carcassonnais and passing tourists come to the place full of history of the Bastide Saint-Louis.

This market is one of the largest and most famous foie gras markets in the region. If you stay in the Gers, don't miss this must-see place! Producers offer directly to consumers goose and duck foie gras, as well as other preparations from carcasses.

So you can go back with some candy, magret or needles. If you are not experts, go to the cutting room where professionals will detail your purchases for you (against free gratification).
