Obtain the Indian visa in Kathmandu
Well, Nepal and India Be two different countries, it is not uncommon to meet travellers in Nepal, continuing their journey to India. It is probably the spirituality of the temples that fascinate so much travellers, not to mention colors, flavors and odors, all well thought, there are still some similarities between these two countries...
It is not easy to obtain an Indian visa in Nepal, and yet the administrative paperwork is not a brake on Kathmandu, because from dawn, dozens of tourists are growing up to get the Grail , the expensive Indian Visa. Of course, this is not necessary if the Indian visa has been issued from France.
How to get his Indian visa from Kathmandu?
Many passengers are forced to go through these steps if they want to continue their journey. The steps are to be taken Indian Visa Service Center , located 15 minutes walk from the centre of Thamel, this center is not the Indian Embassy but it is located right next to it.
The first step is to apply, so applicants take a ticket and must have in their possession:
- the original passport
- a 5×5 cm identity photo (different in passport format)
- a photocopy of the passport and the Nepalese visa
- the form you have previously completed on the Indian visa website
Know that in several shops around the world, it is possible to make all the necessary photocopies and complete the visa application form.
This first visit allows to file the request and to pay the necessary fees for processing the file. Count between 3,000 and 5,000 Nepalese rupees according to the validity time of the visa. Following this first step, 5 working days later , the applicant must go drop his passport in the morning between 9am and 12pm, to finally return the next day to look for his passport with the Indian visa in his pocket.
To leave Nepal, the steps are easier, buses from Kathmandu and Pokhara make the journey towards the Sunauli Post Border.
This post-border is the most borrowed between Nepal and India. He sees a number of travellers going to Varanasi or to Delhi the capital. Immigration services on both sides are open 24 hours a day, but the Indian border crossing is closed to the vehicle between 10:00 and 6:00. Travellers on their way to India will have to change buses at the border, buses from Pokhara and/or Kathmandu drop the passengers, most often at the bus station to finally reach the immigration offices on foot or by bike located 1km away. Once your visa is stamped, buses leave for Varanasi in the morning between 4:30am and 10:30am and the evening between 4:30pm and 7pm.
