At present Corfu is no longer a secret to the great world, and the most famous of the Ionian Islands attracts many people in the season. It is here all the appeal of the hike in Corfu: go on the uncommon trails, and spend beautiful days away from the too full of tourists, while walking through the most beautiful sites of the island... Why do you deprive yourself of it?
Corfu is an island of fairly large size, with the highest point of Mount Pantokrator at 906 m above sea level: there is therefore much to accumulate a few kilometers of walking, and even to offer a bit of denial, with hikes that fit as much in small outings as in beautiful hikes during the day.
We are in Greece, where the summer months are hot: do not underestimate the effects of the heat, protect yourself from the sun and always plan a good water supply, because it is better to wear too much than not enough! Take the morning walking hours, or the end of the day. Ideally, go in high season shift, with more pleasant temperatures to enjoy the most beautiful hikes in Corfu...
1. The city of Corfu (Kerkyra)

Corfu (Kerkyra), the capital of the island, is a must-see for its unique setting and the richness of its historical heritage (classified to World Heritage by Unesco).
This walk therefore takes urban accents, for a beautiful hike in Corfu during which it will be easy to fork from one alley to another, to lose in the old city, to visit small museums, Orthodox churches and other Venetian fortresses, and thus to create its own itinerary.
2. The Tower of Cape Drastis

A Corfu hike that allows you to explore one of the most beautiful marine sites on the island: Cap Drastis. In the north, the latter stands out for its white cliffs, particularly carved by the erosion of the wind and the sea, creating a magnificent natural setting.
A beautiful walk, very photogenic at the end of the day, with why not, descent into a cove for swimming!
3. The secret path of Lakones

We continue with a pretty little hike from Corfu, the secret path of Lakones once taken by the peasants of the island and their mules.
This is how this kalderimi, a former paved path, connects Paleokastritsa to the small village of Lakones perched on its heights, through the olive trees. Take the time to taste the atmosphere of the village before descending by the same path for swimming...
4. The Byzantine village of Palea Perithia

A rather sporty Corfu hike, but worth the detour: the positive denial is rather solid, with a path that runs through the Parigori Gorges, then crosses Kakoskala: literally, the wrong staircase!
Your efforts will be rewarded by the visit of Palea Perithia, an ancient village among the most beautiful of all Corfu, where there is a very special atmosphere. The return is done in a balcony in the direction of the hamlet of Lafki, to finish on the beach of the seaside resort of Acharavi.

One of Corfu hikes really nice: all northeast of the island, the Emiritis region is well known for the beauty of its coastline, and its pretty beaches typical of what is found in the Ionian islands...
Face to you, the coasts of the Albania are sometimes not more than 2.5 km away! Small coastal path well traced and easy to follow, you walk and swim to leisure to prolong the pleasure of the walk, not forgetting to keep an eye on the interesting flora that embellishes the itinerary.
6. Mount Pantocrator via Palies Sinies

A hike in Corfu to do in good weather, to fully appreciate the view from the top of the Pantokrator, the highest point of the island: Epire, Albania, the Ionian Islands archipelago... a superb show.
Passing through Palies Sinies, an abandoned village, the trail offers a good denial and beautiful landscapes, an ascent for hikers in good physical condition.
Many variants exist to climb Mount Pantokrator (it’s easy to go up by car and to walk the ascent to reduce the difficulty), so don’t be too disappointed to find a road leading it also to the top, and take advantage of your passage to visit the Ipsilos Pantokrator monastery once arrived!
7. The viewpoint of Mont Stavros

This Corfu Trail is part of the Corfu Trail, a walking path that crosses the entire island from north to south. The short version starts in the village of Dafnata, the long version directly to Benitses on the coast.
The purpose of the hike is to reach the top of Mount Stavros, which in clear time offers a breathtaking view of Kerkyra (the capital), Mount Pantokrator, the mountains of Albania and the coasts of Epire, on the Greek side. Spectacular!
8. Lake Korission

In the south of the island, this hike of Corfu combines both walking and swimming: you indeed go along the beaches of Lake Korission, separated from the sea by a thick dunaire cord.
If the brine waters of the lake do not make it too much to swim, they are home to many birds to observe, while on the other hand, the sea side Adriatic, it is irresistible.
