Artists from all over the world create beautiful statues from the ice and snow, especially inspired by Disney's accounts (this year the film The Snow Queen is honoured). Indeed, about 30 professional sculptors from 12 different countries will meet for this event and sculpt more than 50 statues.

The sculptures are very beautiful and detailed. There is even a castle of ice that you can climb, after which an ice slide will bring you back to the ground. If you're thirsty, you can have a drink at the Ice Bar . Carry warm clothes because it’s pretty cold inside (more or less 6 degrees). The festival is located on Place de la Gare and is therefore easily accessible (think the train). Tickets are €15 for an adult (reductions for groups, children, etc... It is free for under 3 years).

You can enjoy your coming to the Christmas Market. Bruges does not have a huge one, but it is very warm. Next door is one rink on the Place du Marché, right in front of the city hall. There is also a second smaller market on the place Simon Stevin . The smell of hot chocolate and food is irresistible. Christmas markets are open until December 31.
