In just a few years, the Robot Restaurant has become a mythical place, which we come to discover from the other end of the world, as a legend monument. Namie Osawa is at the origin of the concept. Before embarking on this beautiful adventure, Japan worked in the textile industry. In a country where robots tend to take over humans, Namie Osawa wanted to give another color to this relationship.

While the Japanese become slaves of technology and often suffer from a life dominated by work and the obligation of result, they can now come to relax in a unlikely framework , defying the codes of a very rigid society. Tourists also benefit from this innovative concept!

The advertising that the Robot Restaurant has benefited at the time of its opening has greatly helped to develop its reputation. Some people think that the concept has come to a point, shortly after the 2011 earthquake, allowing Japanese society to emerge from discomfort. While it is obvious that the Robot Restaurant was not going to solve the problems of the country, it is not impossible that the climate of tension has led the Tokyoites to look for a new way to cut off from their daily lives.

The opening of the Robot Restaurant would have cost the modest sum of 10 million euros! If this amount seems important, it is not so exaggerated that, given the means deployed to entertain and surprise the client. Between the price of the land, in the heart of Kabuchiko, the demolition of the old bars located on the site of the current establishment, the construction of this amazing restaurant, the decoration and the high salaries of artists, the cost is justified.

Unlike the ideas received, the Robot Restaurant is not an establishment where meals are served by robots. He's going further!

What to see? A robot show! What? Eat!

In reality, the Robot Restaurant is more a venue only a restaurant. The customer goes there first of all because the restaurant is part of must-do Tokyo, and because it offers an unusual show. The quality of the dishes served does not equal the singularity of the experience. The Robot Restaurant is more an attraction than a high place of Japanese cuisine.

On the culinary level, the meal consists of a simple bento . Less greedy will be satisfied with the snacks sold during the snacks.

In terms of entertainment, only the fact that entering the Robot Restaurant is already an adventure in itself. We don't know where to lay eyes, so much the least square centimetre of the place was thought to attract the look and stimulate the brain. At the small corner, also, nothing was left to chance. The light installations and the sparkling scenery of the largest casinos in Las Vegas are pale in comparison!

The show is really hallucinating! You don’t have to look for meaning in the show, it’s not the goal. Let yourself be carried away by the games of sounds and lights, by the prowess of the dancers and robots, by the battles of the dragons or the charm of the hostess, by the frantic rhythm that holds you in breath until the end of the performance. If you love peace and tranquility, go your way! Amateurs of psychedelic atmosphere and disguised there will find their happiness.

You should not expect great art, but rather go to the Robot Restaurant for the purpose of living a experience quite unusual , in line with this disgusted Japanese facet, which we love so much.
