From the bay of Ajaccio to the Sanguinary Islands – from which the sun embraces in the sea with voluptuous twilight - to the majestic Calanques of Piana and the picturesque village of Porto, you will be literally charmed by the indecent beauty of the landscapes. Of course, the tourist affluence at its peak in the summer could make it crawl more than one – especially the Corsica themselves – but the west coast is really worth the detour. For staying in Ajaccio or walking along the coastline, several housing solutions: hotels, room at the living room, campsites, or why not even a night at the beautiful star on a beach (without tent, the wild campsite being forbidden).
The advantage of the Corsican beaches is that even in the summer, one can be alone and quiet there, going early in the morning until the sun becomes unbearable: around 11 hours. We loved the beach of Sagone, ideal for swimming in clear, peaceful waters, and making snorkeling. Further north, the Calanques of Piana – through the Capo d’Orto trail – are to remain beat, not to miss.

Southern tip of Corsica, Bonifacio is peached on a rocky cliffs of limestone cliffs above the sea. It is little to say that Bonifacio is a splendid site. After winding in its alleys, go for the beaches of Palombaggia and the town of Porto Vecchio , as pretty as crowded in the world – we like less. But choosing to stay in Porto-Vecchio is a good home port to explore this south-eastern part of Corsica.

In the centre, there is a great Alpine taste with the high mountains and wild gorges: in the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, you will love the rigor of Corte, Lake Calacuccia, and Mount Cinto if you are a hiker or sportsman in love with climbing, canyoning, kayaking and mountain biking. To enjoy the center of Corsica, choose to stay in Corte.
