1. The Col de Bavella
To go
- You can follow the D268 from Solenzara or D368 from Porto-Vecchio.
- At the pass you will find a large parking. From this one, a well-marked path will lead you to the first rocks in about ten minutes!
- For the period, it is recommended that you prefer them intersaisons, but the summer can also agree.
Located in the Bavella massif, this old climbing site is known as one of the most beautiful places to climb in Corsica. In its mountains, grow splendid red granite needles covered with lichen with walls covered with beautiful tafoni. The whole form of delusional and displeasant decors that nobbles or suspended pines come sublime! These rocks of the Col de Bavella form the most famous climbing area of Corsica.
Here you will find a hundred tracks. The rating oscillates between 3c and 7c . Most tracks also measure between 15 and 25 metres high.
2. The Gorges de la Restonica

In this beautiful valley close to Corte , you will find many climbing areas for all levels. First site
The first ones are two kilometres along the department. The rock to climb is directly on the road. On this first spot you will find a quarantine routes whose grades oscillate between 4b and 7b .
Second site
Two kilometers later, you will find a second site near a parking lot. A clear path will lead you to 40 lanes from the site. They're from 4b to 8a .
Third site
Finally, you will find the last site six kilometers further, behind the valley. In this place, we find one ten lanes between 6c and 8a . This is the most difficult area in the Valley!
Note that all rocks to climb are located near the river. After a good climbing session, you can refresh yourself in the limpid waters of Restonica.
3. La Punta di Capineru

Located south of Corsica, the Punta di Capineru site is just a few steps from Pianottoli-Caldarello, near the beach. Bonifacio . This beautiful land language of one kilometre penetrates the blue sea. The ratings range from 3a to 7c+ , depending on the blocks. Some are very easy, with walls of 4 to 5 metres . Others offer very difficult ways! The Punta di Capinaru is thus summed up to incredible blocks in a dream setting: sea, tranquility, sport and fierce. Like all, it is certainly one of the best places to climb in Corsica!
4. Holy Land

- Follow the D11 towards the Sanguinary Islands
- At the height of the beach, turn right on the D111b then again to the right on the runway 300 metres further
- You can park your car on a large surface
The beach of the Sacred Earth is one of the most famous of Ajaccio . It attracts many holidaymakers every summer in search of translucent water and white sand. The whole thing bathes in a dream setting, with the Monte Rosso which overlooks the beach and the Gulf of Ajaccio that spreads on the horizon. If the beach is well known, the nearby climbing spot is much less.
From the parking lot, a track climbs to the top of Monte Rosso. In fifteen minutes of walking, you will have reached this magnificent climbing spot. There's one. 20 lanes for 10 to 20 metres high. The ratings range from 4b to 7c . From these heights, you will enjoy an incredible view of the Gulf of Ajaccio. Later, you can refresh yourself at the beautiful beach of the Sacred Lands!
5. Valdu Di Saltu

- From Ajaccio or Propriano, join Petreto-Bicchisano following the N196
- Follow a track from the D757
- In the place « Croce », you will have to see an oratory with a virgin. Parking is nearby.
Located between Ajaccio and Propiano, Valdu di Saltu is a newly built block site. This is the largest spot on the island in this genre. Its immense potential makes it one of the best places to climb in Corsica. Here you will find beautiful granite blocks, undergrowth carpet.
The rating goes here from 4c to 7b for two or three hundred Ways! As the site is evolving, harder ratings are expected to appear over the years. Like any climbing spot in Corsica, we note the bucolic charm of the place: shadows, tranquility, trails and maquis.
Note that the spot is suitable for children. Indeed, the block foot is not dangerous and well adapted for young climbers.
6. Porto
To go
- Follow the D81 towards Piana from the centre of the village
- Five hundred meters further, turn right and follow a small road to the bottom where the beach is located.
- Once your vehicle is parked, walk to the south end the beach to access the climbing site
The village of Porto, in the Gulf of the same name, houses exceptional climbing spots!
You will find in this place a 20 lanes from 3 to 7a . They are high 8 to 15 metres high. After your sports sessions, you can also refresh yourself in the nearby sea. For this reason, and because the simplest routes are ideal for children, it is one of the best places to climb in Corsica when you travel with your family!
7. Bussaglia

- Follow the D81 from Porto and towards Calvi
- After about 6 kilometers, turn left to Bussaglia Beach, normally well indicated
Not far from the Porto spots is also another great site where to climb! At the end of the southeast of Bussaglia beach, you can discover one 30 lanes from 3 to 7b . Mesurant 10 to 20 metres high, these climbing rocks are also ideal for families! In fact, there is also the proximity to the beach and the ways suitable for children.
8. Saint-Florent

- Join the D81 from Bastia
- The spots are between Saint-Florent and Patrimonio in the narrowing of both walls, about 2 kilometers from one or the other
- The sectors then reach through paths
In the bay of Saint-Florent, at the bottom of the Gulf of the same name, you will find several climbing areas with high pitches. Indeed, we find in this place big spills reserved for the elite climbers! On these limestone bars, the rating ranges from 6c to 8b .
In the Strutta parade, the climbers will find very difficult paths on top bars. Others, less difficult, are located in the two areas near the river.
