History of the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid
The Parque de Atracciones de Madrid was inaugurated on 15 May 1969. At that time, the Madrilènes could visit it for only 5 pesos. During the 1970s and 1980s, the park opened many attractions that have become classics today, like the famous carousel built in 1929. Among the new furious machines, the Jetstar, the Travel in Space or the Valley of Prehistory make the success of the park.
From the 1990s, the park entered a phase of change. Several attractions are removed and replaced by others. In April 1998, the Parque de Atracciones organized and divided into five zones: Machines, Tranquillity, Nature, Children and Great Adventures.
