After completion in 1997, the Baiyoke tower (pronounced Bayok) was three hundred and six metres high and had eighty-four floors. In 1999, an antenna was added to its summit. The building is now more than three hundred and forty-five metres high. He was then the highest skyscraper in the country before being defeated by the MahaNakhon, completed in 2016.

This impressive building required outstanding state-of-the-art technology for the time. Imagine: the foundations of the Baiyoke Tower sink more than sixty-five meters deep!
