A’DAM Lookout is located in a tower north of Amsterdam. This neighborhood, baptized Overhoeks , experienced a fulgurating transformation in the space of ten years. This tower of eighty meters high was imagined by the Dutch architect Arthur Staal . Inaugurated in 1971, it then hosted Shell’s headquarters. In 2009, she received a call for tenders from the city of Amsterdam. The idea was to give a second youth to the building. Thanks to the association of local actors of the music business and a land-based company, he turned into a musical background.
In addition to the restaurant, the exhibition and the A’DAM Lookout, its floors contain several labels, a hotel and a nightclub. It is also to this new vocation that the tower owes its current name: the Amsterdam Dance and Music (A’DAM).
