2. Cheapest: metro transfer

The red line of the Lisbon metro was extended in 2012, allowing airport transfer to Lisbon by subway (and vice versa). It’s easy: there’s only one line at the airport and you can’t be mistaken, we’re at the terminus. To go from the city centre to the airport, look for the airport station on the map of public transport in Lisbon and plan 40 minutes (with a change to Alameda). The metro trains circulate from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. It is an excellent way to make its airport transfer in a stand-alone way.

Cheaper than private airport shuttles, the metro is used daily by lisboets. This means that if you arrive at peak time, the metro corridors may be congested.

To access the metro, you must first buy a magnetic pass (cost: €0.50), which is recharged to the stations’ automatons according to the desired sum (3 €, 5 €, 10 €, 15 €, 20 €, 25 €, 30 €, 35 € or 40 €). The journey from one way to the city center is €1.45. The advantage of this pass is that it also works on the buses and trams of Lisbon.

Note that the metro is free if you book it , which includes unlimited free bus, metro, tram and lifts, including elevator Santa Justa .

3. The most comfortable: private shuttle transfer

Between the shared shuttle and the taxi, there's the private shuttle. This is a generally luxurious car that you can book in advance for a group or alone if you want to be quiet. By booking your private shuttle in advance, your driver will welcome you on arrival at the airport to take you to your hotel in the centre of Lisbon.

4. Fastest: Taxi transfer

The taxi is a more comfortable and simple solution to reach your hotel or apartment rental in the centre of Lisbon. Take a taxi with a light sign "Lisboa Taxi" . The price of the race will be at least 18 to 20 € (to be sure that the counter is set in motion, that is the law).

The price of all races is calculated using a meter that must be switched on. Make sure your driver walks the meter when you go up in the taxi, as the otherwise billed races return to more expensive. Prices are displayed inside taxis. The price is €0.47/km with a minimum of €3.25. At night (from 21h to 6h in the morning), shopping is 20% more expensive.

Book your taxi at Lisbon Airport with TaxiTender . It is an online booking platform for reliable and affordable airport transfer. No stress, your driver finds you at the airport, all rates are included and cancellation is free. If you booked a flight early in the morning at Lisbon Airport or if you would simply prefer to take a taxi to the airport, this platform is ideal for this use.

5. Alternative: rent a car at Lisbon Airport

You come to visit Lisbon for several days and want to discover the region or the whole of Portugal? car rental directly to the Lisbon airport can be a good solution.
