Visit Taipei: what are the best things to do and see in the capital of Taiwan?
There is so much to visit in the city of Taipei that we don’t know where to start... You could spend your entire stay walking, strolling through the streets, without even putting your feet in a museum or temple, and you would be surprised by everything you might see. 1. Night Market – Shilin Night Market
Taiwan has fantastic food. It is a mix of influences from China and Japan (among others), and there is no better place to try them (at a lower cost) than in a night market. "Culinary" markets like that of Shilin , offer all Taiwan influences in small bites. Take a walk in the narrow alleys and try oyster omelettes, fresh seafood, scented tofu (if you can withstand the fetid odor), spring onion pancakes, mango ice creams, fried chicken, and honey tomato-cerer skewers, to name only these specialties there. Then take a cup of soft tea or Taiwan Beer .

2. The Karaokes
The KTV are establishments composed of several individual rooms containing karaoke equipment. Many KTV in Taiwan are open 24/7. Taiwanese are crazy with karaoke. Unlike the West, where karaoke is considered to be has-been , this is one of the most popular activities to do during the weekend (especially). You will be surprised to see the chic establishments that welcome these karaoke. If you don’t sing, it’s not a problem, you can eat on the spot.
3. The Taipei Tower 101
This tower was one day the highest building in the world. Taipei 101 offers dizzying views from its top floor. Go preferably one day when the city is not too loud (there will always be a little fog...) so you can see further. There is an internal observatory on the 89th floor, and an open air on the 91st floor. 4. Dive into history at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall...

7. Take the Maokong Gondola in the mountains

A welcome break in the vicinity of the bustling and animated city of Taipei. You can follow paths and walks through forests, tea plantations and ponds, temples, palaces and tea lounges.

Taiwan has the highest density of groceries in the world. The most popular chains are 7-Eleven, Family Mart and Hi-Life. They are all open 24/7 and it is almost impossible to walk more than 100 meters without meeting one.

This train that can reach 400 km/h is part of the most frequent metros in the world ! With this train you can go to other places of the country by traveling very quickly.
