The 6 most beautiful beaches of Florida

Are you going on vacation in Florida? Discover the most beautiful beaches of the state of the sun!

At first sight, Florida’s attractions have no secret. Divine beaches , incredible theme parks and a lively nightlife make it an obvious destination for families, couples, seniors or lonely travelers. With a coastline stretching over a few 1930 km, it’s quite naturally the beaches we’ll talk about today, with a selection of six of Florida’s best beaches. Beaches are the main ingredient of your trip to Florida so don’t hesitate to take time to explore some of them.

South Beach, Miami

South Beach is the ideal place to enjoy the nightlife that never seems to end and starts from the night when the neons illuminate the art-deco masterpieces. It is from this neighborhood that its long and beautiful beach extends. Here, everything is for the pleasure of the eyes, where we can find models in the middle of the photo session, and where you can jogging in the morning. Although the water is that of the Pacific, it is as clean and clear as that of the Caribbean, and jet-skiing can be done and go by boat or practice all kinds of aquatic activities.

The beach is so large that there is a “field” to play polo with horses on the sand. An interesting sport to watch. If you are staying in Miami, don’t forget to read our Top 12 things to do in Miami .

Siesta Beach, Siesta Key

This quiet beach pretends to have the more beautiful white sand beach in the United States, and it may be true. Indeed the sand is so clean and so soft, that it is almost a sacrilege to walk with its shoes. Its shape, its quartz crystal sand (white as snow) and the emerald green color of the water make Siesta Beach a real paradise for the bright. The sea is here very quiet, without waves, allowing children to swim safely.

Another asset: the composition of the sand allows it to remain cold even when the sun is at its peak in the sky. Finally, it is not a coincidence that this beach has a name so evocative, we come here to pick a big rupee. At the end of the day, we come with a glass of wine by hand to admire the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico . This is a almost daily custom for the premises!

Cape Florida, Key Biscayne

This beach is perfect for a family stay . The island is large and its lighthouse at its southern end only confirms its beauty. Very exposed to the wind, it is much less inclined to the strong heats of which other beaches of Florida are victims. However, do not bring a surfboard, there are almost no waves on which to slide. Quiet water therefore allows children to swim safely. There's a restaurant by the beach, and the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is kept in a beautiful state. However, it is not possible to sleep on the island but it is an ideal destination for a day trip. Although we are still close to Miami, you will see that disbursement is total .

Island of Sanibel

The Spanish explorers of the 16th century already called it Costa de Carocles ("Coast of Shells"), and the island of Sanibel still holds today one impressive amount of shells . It comes especially to pick them up. Take advantage of this to visit the Bailey-Matthews shell museum which has specimens from all over the world and allows you to identify those you have collected on the shore.

If the heart tells you (and if the time allows), go to Bowman’s Beach , a very quiet and isolated beach where you see a historic lighthouse. Note that on the island, fauna is well preserved, and it is possible to spot waffled turtles from the wooden walks and there are even crossings of alligators ( gator crossings ) on the edge of the bay.

Knight Island

We're also watching her Palm Island . This island has a real beach to escape, and you can only go there by ferry or by private boat. The ferry costs $6 to go back (if you are on foot). There are no hotels but you can test the rental of a house. It is to be considered seriously because you may want to stay there for a week. If you rent a home, you will be entitled to a golf shopping cart to move on the island and on the different beaches.

The place is also very appreciated by the fishermen. On the sand of the beach near 16 km, you can pick up black shark teeth during a pleasant walk. We feel very safe on the island, but be careful: you will hate this place if you like to move and do lots of things in the day, but you will love it if you want to escape the brouhaha of the great towns of Florida.

New Smyrna Beach

Here's a great and casual beach. Like all the opposite of South Beach. In the North, best surf spots in Florida , referenced among the 20 best places in the world to surf by magazine National Geographic . But it is also where you count the most sharks in the state. Take height above the beach and you will see many young people surfing, surrounded by shark fins. But they're not big sharks, and they're not here to eat us. New Smyrna Beach is only an hour’s drive from Orlando. You will enjoy it to visit the ruins of a old sugar cane mill .

Travel to Florida

Of course, these beaches are only very good examples of places to go to discover the beaches of Florida. But the list is not exhaustive. In fact, here are some others:

  • Atlantic Beach
  • Palm Beach
  • Naples beach
  • The property named Clearwater Beach
  • Delray Beach

There are many other ideas to explore this state: for example, why not rent a car and leave for a car the keys up to Key West ? You could leave Miami and go down to Key West and then go up the Gulf Coast of Mexico.
