2. Les Rousses

3. Métabief

Easily accessible from Besançon , the station of Métabief extends over 6 villages and offers breathtaking views of the Alps from the summit of Mont d’Or. The alpine skiers at any level practice the slip on 37 kilometers of snow-covered descents, ideally located between 950 and 1,430 meters. The trails are interconnected and diversified with 9 greens, 12 blues, 11 reds and 3 blacks. The hiker.se.s take advantage of 120 kilometers of cross-country ski trails and 56 kilometers of snowshoe trails in the middle of nature. You can give your heart joy in the midst of the spices! 4. Plans d’Hotonnes

Would you like to ski without ruining yourself? What if you opt for the Plans d’Hotonnes? This small family resort in the department of Ain and all indicated for children and skiers wanting to slide at a quiet pace. Located on the Retord Plateau, it covers a 15-kilometre length for 13 red, green and blue tracks. For cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, 150 kilometers provide access to the most beautiful landscapes with the strength of the legs and sticks. There is even a fully equipped snowpark for snowboarding, at no extra cost. This is a major asset of the Station des Plans d’Hotonnes: its accessible price! Here the housing and package budget remains very affordable. The price of the daily alpine ski package is € 19 per adult in 2019.

During your stay, do not miss visiting the artisanal cheeseries of Brénod or the Combe du Val. Discover the Lèbe Observatory to admire the stars or visit the planetarium.

5. The Fourgs

A small ski resort in the Doubs, Les Fourgs is home to 12 ski slopes, including two red ones with steep passages, like the one of "La Meuse". Located not far from the Métabief area, it is easy to alternate between this friendly family resort and more sporty routes. Every year, a sled dog race animates Les Fourgs and makes the joy of the whole family. It is even possible to learn how to make an attelage! Rackets and Nordic skis are facilitated by many routes. 6. The Gentianes

Would you like to learn skiing in a family and quiet space? Welcome to the Gentianes, THE ideal learning station in the Jura! With 2 green tracks, 1 blue and 1 red and 15 ESF monitors, you will progress quickly. The place is beautiful and is very well suited to snowshoe or cross-country ski rides. Since 2017, the site has 3 tubing sledges that make the happiness of both small and large... There is also a 200-seat parking, equipment rental, a restaurant and a snack.

7. Foncine-le-Haut

Just like the Jura Mountains, the small Foncine-le-Haut estate is located in the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park. The slopes are set on the slopes of the Mont Noir forest, near the charming village Petit Pierre. The resort consists of 3 ski slopes, a ski lift and 65 kilometres of trails for snowshoe hikes. In addition, there are 85 kilometers of cross-country skiing. On the budget side, it is one of the most affordable resorts in Jura, with a cost of 13 € (2019). Don’t miss visiting the village’s cheese shop as well as the ecomusée and the Polaire Park, both located between Chaux-Neuve and the Chapelle des Bois.

8. La Robella

Pass the Swiss border and enter the charming station of La Robella. Over 1,400 metres above sea level, it offers a guaranteed snowmobile to ski longer, usually until April. In La Robella, there are 13 alpine ski slopes covering a 20-kilometre descent, ranging from green to black. The area also explores snowshoes, thanks to 5 routes marked from all levels, passing through the Val-de-Travers forests and the Chasseron massif. On the way, you can enjoy the local specialities during a lunch at the Auberge de la Robella or at the Hôtel du Chasseron.

9. La Dôle-Saint-Cergue

Always on the Swiss side, on the heights overlooking Lake Geneva, the very pretty resorts of Saint-Cergue and the Dôle, with stunning views of Mont Blanc. This average mountain resort culminating at 1,200 metres above sea level is perfect for a family or friends exit. The estate is divided into two parts: the site of Terre Ronde and its 10 alpine and snowboard ski slopes and the Nordic site of La Praille for cross-country skiing and snowshoe hikes. On site, it is possible to try the sled dog, on the large areas offered by the natural spaces of the Bugey.
