Take the train quietly, the SNCF takes care of your luggage

The SNCF Baggage Service takes charge of your home baggage and delivers them to the address of your choice within 24 hours

To facilitate your train trip, especially in case you have bulky baggage (a bike, skis, several suitcases...), you can let the SNCF take you through the Home Baggage service.

The SNCF Home Baggage Service takes charge of your luggage at home and delivers them to the address you indicated to them within 24 hours. Ideal for carrying gifts during the holidays, for large families leaving on holiday or for an elderly person who does not want to bother or can simply not wear his suitcase.

What price? What conditions?

To book your baggage clearance, you have to make an appointment that takes place half a day, in the morning from 8am to 1pm and in the afternoon from 1pm to 5pm (except weekends). It is possible to remove up to 10 ordinary bags per ticket. The reservation of the "Home Baggage" service is available in SNCF Shops, by phone at 3635 (0.34 €/min) and on the Baggage Internet site.voyages-sncf.com. You can book up to 48h before your train trip.

Your baggage is charged 38 euros (the first bag of less than 20 kg) and 20€ for the following.

A large bagage (velo, moor, folded stroller, water board less than 3 m...) is transported for 80€. For the carriage of a wheelchair, you will need to pay €30 (motor-free, weight less than 60 kg).

This service is particularly appreciated by seniors looking for comfort and serenity for their trips, but also families, very often well charged to travel. The "Home Baggage Service" is there to facilitate the train trip, it must be associated with a TGV, IdTGV or Intercites ticket.

delivery intervenes within a minimum of 24 hours. It is made from Monday to Friday (from 8am to 5pm) and Saturday from 8am to 12pm (except holidays).

Discounts are applications if you have a SNCF discount card (12-25, Senior...)

An expensive service but ideal for holidays

The price for this service appears expensive, but this is the price of tranquility . If you plan to travel by train for the holidays, with your skis, your sledge and all your Christmas gifts, you may want to have them delivered to you so you don't cumber up and travel quietly. Same for the summer holidays: during the school-end moves or large family departures on holiday, you may be very busy. Think about it...

For example, for two ordinary baggage (less than 25 kg), the rate will be 58€. If you add a large bagage to this, the price will be 138€. You can calculate what it will cost you directly on the SNCF home baggage service site.
