Imposing building between Avignon and Nîmes, measuring 49 meters high and 275 meters long, Pont du Gard is the highest Roman aqueduct bridge ever built in France. It was built on three levels of ark with stones from the surrounding Roman careers. The Pont du Gard , which entangles the river of the " Gardon", allowed to feed the city of Nîmes in drinking water.
