1. Le Mont Aigoual

Located south of the Massif Central, Mont Aigoual known for its panorama and weather observatory offers a multitude of trails to reach the summit. However, the advantage of this hike lies in the fact that it allows to truly observe its surroundings and to appreciate its observatory, including its stage gite.
The walk is short, but you have a magnificent view of the Causses and Cevennes. It is the ideal to discover the station and its views without having to devote the day to it or any physical effort to provide. Fast and efficient, if you are short-run in the Cevennes, use this route without hesitation.
Good to know: at the highest point of Mount Aigoual, picnic tables are available for you to enjoy the panoramic view of the time of a lunch break.
2. The Trail of the 4 000 Marches

If you want to make a hike a little more sporty, try the mythical trail of the 4,000 steps. No worry about the name of the hike, the 4,000 steps are actually not present on the trail. It is simply an immuted way to describe ascension.
However, the course is long and it will take a good day of walking to complete the entire hike. But this loop is really worth a look! It allows you to discover both the vegetation and the exceptional panoramas present on the top of Mount Aigoual.
And if the first part of the trail makes you climb directly with an ascent sometimes in steep terrain, the descent will allow you to observe beautiful landscapes from the Coulet and the gite Aire-de-Cote.
In summer, we recommend leaving early in order to avoid high heat in the middle of the climb. Similarly, water is present on the site, so it is unnecessary to overload the liquid backpack.
3. Col de Prat Peyrot – Mont Aigoual – L’Hort de Dieu

This hike along the Col de Prat Peyrot, Mont Aigoual and the Sleep of God is quick and easy to achieve. The walk is mainly on trails and trails and the hike alternates between the landscapes of forest and meadows before reaching the summit of Mont Aigoual.
