So much to say that you're going to enjoy yourself, but where to book accommodation to stay in Samos? The main cities of Samos are Vathy – the capital -, Pythagoreio and Karlovasi, but you can also choose to stay in other places, such as the smallest villages typical of authentic Greece.

To help you, here is our presentation of the cities and villages where to sleep in Samos.

Vathy

Vathy is the main city of the island but it is increasingly called Samos. It houses the port from which you will probably land. It is also close to the port that we find the essential part of the accommodation offer to stay in Vathy. The premises of this city of 10,000 inhabitants perpetuate their customs, customs and traditions as if time had no take on the island. The city consists of two districts: Kato-Vathy (low town) and Ano-Vathy (high city). Around the harbour, there are taverns and restaurants where you can enjoy the terraces with sea view. If you choose to stay in Vathy, don’t miss getting into a shop to taste the specialties of the island, many: natural sweet wine of Samos, ouzo, honey, natural soap... On the heights, the archaeological museum of Vathy is a must to visit.

Second city of the island, facing the Strait of Mycale separating Samos from the Turkey , is the birthplace of the famous Greek mathematician Pythagoras: Pythagorion. The population is 7,996 inhabitants but the offer of accommodation is abundant given the small size of the city. Close to the harbour, find the majority of bars and restaurants, where the crowd gathers day and night. It is an ideal stopover to sleep in Samos if you arrive by plane: the airport is nearby, a few kilometers west.
