Built around the 12th century BC, Su Nuraxi is considered a megalithic site. However, we do not yet know all the secrets... Moreover, by escalating the central tower (from 18 meters to the beginning), you will realize that its walls decrease as the rise.
  • Visit the centro Giovani Lilliudedicated to the archaeologist at the origin of the discovery of Su Nuraxi. Through an exhibition, you’ll go back to history.
  • Discover the Casa Zapata which is the former residence of the Aragonese barons. Built in the half of the 16th century, this magnificent nobility palace with garden is the seat of a splendid museum. The latter is organized into three sections: archaeological, historical-archivistic and ethnographic.

Here are the different rates applied to visit Su Nuraxi.

  • Children from 13 to 17 and groups of 20 persons: 9€
  • Children aged 7-12: 7€
  • Persons with disabilities and children under 6 years of age: free

Note : the entrance ticket is unique and allows you to visit the three structures of the site (Su Nuraxi, Casa Zapata and Centro Giovanni Lilliu).

  • The visit of another nuraghi: Su Mulinu in Villanovafranca is the closest site to Barumini. You will discover an archaeological museum.
  • The large museum of Sa Corona Arrubia , located about 20 kilometers away.

The site opens every day of 9am . However, closing times vary depending on the months of the year:

  • January and February: 5 p.m.
  • March: 5.30 p.m.
  • April: 7.30 p.m.
  • May and June: 20h
  • July: 8:30
  • August: 8:00 in August,
  • September: 7.30 p.m.
  • October: 6.30 p.m.
  • November and December: 5 p.m.

Note : the last guided tour starts an hour before the site is closed.

How do I access Su Nuraxi?

Cagliari being one of the most popular cities for a trip to Su Nuraxi, there are several ways to access the site from the site:

  • The cheapest means of transport remains the bus (3 times a day). Line 436 will take you from Cagliari to Su Nuraxi for 5€.
  • It is also possible to visit Su Nuraxi in taxi.
  • The combined visits and organized excursions are carried out mainly in bus or shuttle
