Lesbos Airport is a few kilometres from Mytilène. If your arrival is late or your departure is scheduled early, it is advisable to choose it to stay in Lesbos during your stay. And because of this, there are many hotels! However, think to book in advance if you stay there during the summer season.

Choose Mytilène to sleep in Lesbos, it is to enjoy to visit the castle of Mytilène and the monastery. The bay of Gera on its side offers a nice landscape. Attention, however, : life is animated in Mytilène and prices a little higher than in the rest of the island (on average, between 50 and 60 € per night).

Molyvos

Also known as Méthymn, Molyvos is a charming city, north of the island. This island region is known for its volcanic activity. Here you will find beaches of grey sand and several springs of thermal water on the Eftalou side. Walking around, you can admire the Ottoman-influenced stone houses, the Turkish fountains and the aristocratic residences. Spread in its alleys to finish the classified site of the castle. This 13th century building overlooks everything and offers a panoramic view of Molyvos and the sea from its ramparts.

If you are looking to sleep in Lesbos in Molyvos, book in advance: the city is well known to tourists. For one night, average between 40 and 50 € per night.

Petr

The town of Petra is a little quieter than Molyvos, just a few kilometers south of it. You can discover its church, perched on a rocky promontory and its beach. During your stay, book a table at the Petra Women's Cooperative. You will taste Greek dishes, delicious, prepared on site by the women of Petra and served in a warm atmosphere. The village of Pétri, located three kilometers above Petra, will offer you a beautiful view of the region.

If you have a car, the petrified forest is a must of Lesbos! It is a forest that was imprisoned by the lava during a volcanic eruption, 20 million years ago. There are still some petrified trees, the site has been classified in order to avoid their remains.

Petra remains a tourist place, you will find easily where to stay in Lesbos, whether in a hotel or in a guest room. Prices are the same as in Molyvos.

Plomari

It is a large port of the south of the island whose region is dominated by the Mount Olympe . If you are looking for a place to stay in Lesbos, a little away from tourists, Plomari is perfect. Located all west of Lesbos, Sigri is a city in which you can find accommodation to take a step. If you like the quieter and less touristic atmospheres, favor Sigri! It is the ideal to visit the surrounding villages: Eressos (known as the birthplace of the poet Sappho), Skara Eressos and its incredible beaches... If you want to know more about the petrified forest, you will find the answers to your questions at the Natural Museum of the Persian Forest of Lesbos in Sigri. Count about 40 € per night.

Kalloni

To finish on the island of emerald, direction Kalloni! Known for its port, sardines and golf, Kalloni is ideal for a fierce stay. Paradise of birds, Kalloni hosts an observation post. Located in Agia Paraskevu, the latter studies migratory birds from the spring. A few kilometers, go to the monastery Iera Moni Leimonos: a spiritual parenthesis, perfectly within the framework of the stay.
