Norrmalm

Norrmalm is the city’s neuralgic and modern centre, especially south of the neighborhood (Nedre Norrmalm), stretching to the island of Skeppsholmen. Sleeping in Nedre Norrmalm will allow you to do everything on foot, without using public transport. For a day of shopping, there is everything you need: wide avenues lined with merchant galleries, shops, and pedestrian streets as crowded as well as pleasant where to wander the beautiful days. Consumption, fashion and design summarize this area.
Like all the city centers, the area is crowded with tourists: excentre if you are looking for quiet, off the beaten paths. In front of the island of Skeppsholmen, don’t miss the Vasaa Museum, famous for its ship which was sinking in 1628 during its inaugural trip to the port of Stockholm and which remained, until 1961, immersed for 333 years. For light budgets, you are advised of a good experience we have lived in Stockholm: book a night on the Af Chapman , the youth hostel sailboat, to sleep on the water, in a unique setting, like a anchor browser.

Östermalm

This is the chic district of the Swedish capital. There are large luxury boutiques, design and fashion shops, avenues imitating the Haussmannian style of the Second French Empire, museums, art galleries, and restaurants to punctuate your visits. This is the neighborhood where the class is easy and bourgeois in Stockholm. There are many green spaces to relax, but the area is pretty quiet in the evening and at night. Rent an apartment in this neighborhood if you are looking for calm and your budget is solid: it is a neighborhood where to stay in Stockholm quite expensive.

Gamla Stan

Gamla Stan literally means "old city" in Swedish. It is on this tiny island, in this maze of narrow streets and small squares, that the soul and the history of the city is exhaled. It is indeed one of the last remnants of Stockholm in the medieval era, a concentrate of open-air culture: historical monuments, the paved facades of red, ochre and yellow, an authentic atmosphere guaranteed. It was here that the city was founded in the 13th century to protect the city from invasions and looting. Specialty shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, small shops: if you want picturesque in a central area – but very popular – it is here that you have to sleep in Stockholm.

On the other hand, if you like art, alternative culture, small, quiet cafés, local craft shops, these areas where you can find everything that is more disillusioned with the dominant culture, choose to sleep in Södermalm. Located on an island south of the city centre, following Gamla Stan, it is the bohemian, bobo and trendy district of the city. You will enjoy the typical Swedish restaurants and cafes that sow the neighborhood. The accommodation also includes its hotels, apartments and hostels. Restaurants, nightclubs, vintage independent shops of artists and young designers are appreciated by the locals. A good area to stay in Stockholm, two or three metro stops in the city centre.
