Like all the cities in the United States, Kansas City has its CBD – Central Business District -, baptized Downtown. It is the economic centre and the neighbourhood where most of the social life is froged. So it is a heteroclite population. Downtown is the central point of the city, including

  • the district of the railway station – Union Station -, which houses many museums, exhibitions, restaurants and other merchant galleries;
  • Crown Center. Visit the Liberty Memorial, inaugurated in 1925 by the Maréchal Foch and General Pershing to commemorate the First World War. The First World War National Museum is located there;
  • The Penn Valley Park offers an ideal setting to stroll through the beautiful days (when the weather doesn't make its own).
  • Do you like music? Don't miss the American Jazz Museum. The great names of jazz left their mark here, like Charlie Parker or Elle Fitzgerald. The area also offers a festive nightlife that is not without having some airs of New Orleans.

Attention, as often in American cities, the downtown area is a neighborhood where rents are high. Staying in Kansas City Centre is therefore rather intended for large budgets.
