Are you going to visit the Hérault and the Midi de la France this year? Here are the neighborhoods to sleep in Béziers!
The second largest agglomeration in the department of Hérault and fifth in the Occitanie region, Béziers has 76,493 Biterrois and 171,010 people in its urban area. Located west of the department between Narbonne (11) and Montpellier , Béziers is located in an ideal position between sea and mountains, between scrubs and vineyards close to popular seaside cities – Cap d’Agde, Marseillan, Sète, Frontignan, Valras-Plage, Port-la-Nouvelle – and on the foothills of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park .
Irrigate by the Orb and the emblematic Canal du Midi , it would be the oldest commune of France, founded by the Greeks in the 7th century before our era, more ancient than Marseille .

Neuralgic and attractive heart of the city, the historic centre is logically the most touristic and visited area. Staying in Béziers in the historic centre gives you all its historical, cultural and religious monuments and access to the great shopping arteries. The neighbourhood is on the right bank of the Orb, including the amphitheatre of the Roman Arenas , the emblematic Pont-Vieux – Romanesque bridge of the 12th century, classified as Historical Monument -, the Cathedral of Saint-Nazaire – visible several kilometers before arriving in Béziers from Narbonne – and its point of view on the city.
The cathedral, classified as a historic monument since 1840, is an imposing 13th century building erected in Gothic style and which, on its heights, dominates the entire city and the plain of the Orb. I don't miss the center. Plateau des Poètes , a vast English park, opened in 1867, bringing together statues of poets, linking the station to the Allies Paul-Riquet and the eponymous statue. For museums, the Museum of Biterrois and the Fayet Museum are to be done. You will enjoy the terraces of many bars and restaurants just steps from the hotels where to stay in Béziers.

North of the city centre is the Champ-de-Mars district, and the home of Jean Moulin . It is a residential area, stretched between the avenue d’Oc, avenue Jean Moulin and avenue Enseigne Albertini.
Loging to the east of the city centre will be ideal if you want to reach the highway, while being close to the streets with Haussmann boulevards in the city centre.

Are you wondering where to sleep in Beziers? On the other side of the Orb, you will find a residential area with an interest if you plan to go hiking along the Canal du Midi: the 9 locks of Fonseranes are a must-see for a visit to Béziers. Pass the Orb Canal Bridge to arrive on this historic site of the construction of the Canal du Midi, built in 1697. A large concert hall – Zinga Zanga – is located on the outskirts of the neighborhood, which can accommodate up to 2,300 people.
