Biarritz is the fourth town in the department of the Pyrenees-Atlantiques after Pau, Bayonne and Anglet. Biarritz is located in the heart of the Gulf of Gascogne. To stay in Biarritz in a different atmosphere than that of the seaside tourism, and despite the typical embossing of the city, you will find on the side of Saint-Charles, a district located behind the Hotel du Palais, a real village in the city. The district is unique to the presence of the Orthodox church, built in Byzantine style in the last years of the 19th century, testifying to the affluence of the rich Russians who had once settled there. Nestled around Place and Avenue Beau Rivage, the neighborhood of the Negresse Beaurivage, which overlooks the area Basque coast , it was long ago the popular neighborhood of Biarritz.
