The spiritual riches of Nepal through unmissable cities
Most people who know Nepal know that spirituality is very important in the country. With religions such as Indian Hinduism and Buddhism, spirituality is one of the fascinating facets of Nepal. There is only one to walk around the alleys of Kathmandu to realize that each altar is covered with Indian eyelets, flowers, incense, a real spiritual imprint which also presents close to the sacred lakes to the borders of the Himalayas. The sacred is omnipresent in Nepal. However, some cities further mark their spirituality through their history or activities...
1. Bodnath

Bodnath is located a few tens of kilometers from the capital of Nepal and yet it is a completely different aspect that Bodnath offers. It is a unique site, in addition to hosting the largest Tibetan community in Nepal, this city is also famous because it is home to the largest stupor in Asia. Passing through the city of Bodnath, read to the monks in burgundy dress and light a butter lamp while walking around the dome, under the eyes of Buddha.

After having spent a moment close to the stupa, many will feel invaded by the tranquility of Buddhists. It is in Kopan, more precisely in the monastery of Kopan, in the heights of the city of Bodnath, that many find themselves in order to study Buddhist philosophy. An exceptional place, probably the best of the Himalayas, for all those who wish to follow a spiritual retreat or learn the basics of Tibetan Buddhism.
3. Lumbini

Lumbini is very famous all over the world because it is in Lumbini even, that in 563 before Jesus Christ, the city saw Siddhartha Gautama, better known as Buddha. Inscribed to the world heritage of humanity, the city of Lumbini welcomes Buddhists from all over the world but not that... Although most travellers only spend a few hours visiting the site, the main temple of Maya Devi and the surrounding area are just as impregnated with spirituality. The serenity of the place deserves two, three days of visit.
4. Kathmandu and Pokhara

Kathmandu and Pokhara, the two largest cities in Nepal are also imprints of spirituality. When many visitors focus on the usual visits of Durbar Square and other monasteries, others go to these cities for Yoga. Nothing is more pleasant than to practice a yoga session in cities where serenity is queen. Many centres have opened their doors for courses ranging from one hour to an intensive week. On the programme: relaxation, internships, mud baths, relaxation but also trek-yoga!
5. Pashupatinath

Pashupatinath, like his Indian consister Varanasi , is a sacred must in Nepal. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, the temple of Pashupatinath is the saint of the saints of Hindu religion. A refuge for all monks, faithful and sadhus who come many of the entire Indian subcontinent. A place that once also welcomed the kings of Nepal, who came to seek blessing from Pashupati. The special atmosphere of the site leaves all its visitors as frozen in time, a spiritual parenthesis as there are very few in the world.
