As mentioned above, Formentera does not have an airport. To reach it, the ferry is therefore the best and cheapest way. Like Ibiza, this destination can perfectly be found by car, van or fitted van. The Balearic Islands can even be a step in a longer road trip through Spain.
To go to Formentera by ferry, Ibiza is one of the best starting points. Several companies offer crossings between the two Pityuses Islands: Balearia , Aquabus , Mediterranea Pitiusa or Trasmapi . The journey usually lasts between 25 and 60 minutes , depending on the starting and arrival point in Ibiza. This destination is permanently served throughout the year. Several crossings take place every day, often in the morning for Ibiza — Formentera and in the late afternoon for Formentera — Ibiza.
It is also possible to reach the tranquil Formentera from the island of Majorca . You can also board directly to this island from the ports of the Spanish coast, as Barcelona Denia or Gandia.

As with any trip, it is recommended to book your ferry tickets in advance. During the summer or last minute, the prices of the crossings fluctuate rapidly upwards.
