New: Traficar, a car sharing service in Krakow
At the end of 2016, the city of Krakow launched its first car sharing service where you can rent a car in a minute. Traficar is a service that is accessible by smartphone and allows to book vehicles at any time. The service provides two rates for customers: one that counts the minutes during which the car was used, and the other measures the distance travelled by the driver.
Traficar works like many other similar car sharing services in Europe. A smartphone app locates the car, then a user can open the vehicle by scanning a QR code. The keys are in the glove box and the payment is made at the end of the trip. The cars concerned can be returned and parked in any area of the city, and guests can also park for free in the parking areas usually paid.
More than 100 cars are already available in Krakow. The application is available in Polish and English and is downloaded on Android and iOS.
