Take a half-day cruise to Guanabara Bay in Rio and enjoy a lunch in a seafood restaurant!
It is sometimes enough to take a little back to truly admire a place. Rio de Janeiro is no exception and instead of walking in the streets and losing you on the beaches, why not take the sea by doing a wonderful cruise in Guanabara Bay ?
Discover Guanabara Bay
It was at the beginning of the 16th century, on January 1, 1502, that the Bay of Guanabara was discovered which consists of several islands such as the Island of the Governor, the Island of Cobras or the Bay of Fundão. It is in honour of this date that the city of Rio de Janeiro, “Rivil River” was baptized.
Located between the cities of Rio and Niteroi, the bay will let you admire the most beautiful views with the Mont du Sugar bread in the distance, Christ Redeemer , the beaches of Copacabana but also the Santa Cruz fortress that protects the bay and the emblematic areas like Botafogo and Flamengo.
From your hotel in Rio, a shuttle picks you up and takes you to the marina of Gloria, located opposite the baroque church of Nossa Senhora da Gloria do Outeiro, a pure example of colonial architecture that has survived the invasion of real estate developers.
The cruise lasts 4 hours during which you can have a breakfast-buffet composed of seafood in a restaurant near Rio.

All in the water!
During this half-day cruise in the Bay of Guanabara, you will admire different sites that are famous as those mentioned at the beginning of the article but also other singulars such as the fort of São João, the Island of Laje and the beaches of Niteroi which are of breathtaking beauty.
Between two visits, you can of course plunge into the waters of Guanabara Bay under the Brazilian sun and the gentle heat, but at your own risk. Indeed, the quality of water in the bay leaves to be desired, although the Olympic Games will take place this summer.
Enjoy a lunch in a seafood restaurant!
Relax in the sun during this cruise, get away from the tumult and the constant fury of the heart of Rio to enjoy this peaceful moment. You will end your cruise with a lunch in a seafood restaurant, to taste the delights of local fishermen. Departure time is scheduled at 8 a.m. and the shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the foot of your hotel. Who said Paradise didn’t exist?
