The dishes to choose from the restaurants of Porto
The association of ingredients such as paprika, cinnamon, cod and many others is a reflection of how the inhabitants of Porto remained close to their traditions and passionate about their gastronomic history.
The dishes
Porto gastronomy has a variety of dishes whose main ingredient is cod. You can enjoy it in the Bacalao Ze do Pipo (or Bacalhau ), a type of baked cake that is made with milk, purée potatoes and mayonnaise.

The city of Porto also has seafood among its specialties: fish, sardines, grilled octopus ( polvo ), but especially the tripes:
Tripas to Moda do Porto (tripes) is a stew made of high-quality meat remains such as ham, sausage, calf and chicken, all mixed with beans. It is usually served with rice.

Another typical dish of Porto is called the Francesinha (which means "the little French"). It is a kind of white sandwich bread stuffed with ham, veal sausage or pork, with melted cheese on top and covered with a beer and tomato sauce. We'll serve you with fries. Optionally, you can ask for an egg on the top. Good fat, but delicious.

The wine of Porto
Nothing like a good wine to accompany a good meal and Porto has a wide range of options, and its wine has a world reputation . Choose from its large variety of red, pink or white. All are excellent choices and there’s always something you like. This wine is produced in the Douro Valley and requires a fairly complex manufacturing process, which makes it its success.

desserts
The sweet part of Porto is in the Pastéis de Belém coming from Lisbon, a type of pastry flan served with cream made from a secret recipe. The ideal is to eat it with cinnamon and ice sugar.
Another typical sweetness is called Queijadas de Sintra , prepared in crust with sugar, cheese and ground cinnamon.
The Requeijão com doce de abóbora (from the ricotta with potiron jam) is suitable for breakfast as for dessert.
