The Angles

Located in the Regional Natural Park of the Catalan Pyrenees, the Angles estate is one of the best mountain bikes in the Pyrenees. Well in place for some seasons, it has 6 descent tracks: 1 green, 2 blue, 1 red, 2 black. The station also has an enduro space. On the track side, we recommend the Frodon green track at the beginner. Long 5.3 km for 500 metres of height, it will provide you with the first driving sensations of descent. The intermediate profiles will be able to browse the Aragorn, a blue track on the technical path. The Izangard will seduce experienced Vetists with its start in a ridge with bridges, bridges and very airy passages. It should be noted that the area of Angles is open daily from July 6 to September 1, 2019, as well as several weekends in June and September.

From Les Angles, you can also reach one of the most beautiful massifs in France: the Massif du Canigou. With its beautiful palette of landscapes, it is a great place to mountain bike in the Alps! From Fort-Romeu, the adventurers will be able to reach the coastal town of Collioure. The 200-kilometre marked path that will lead you to it is considered one of the most beautiful hikes in the Pyrenees.

Vallnord, Andorra

Nestled in the middle of the summits, Andorra’s small state houses two of the best mountain bike areas in the Pyrenees. Vallnord's Andorran station is the most famous and the main in the country. She has also gained a great reputation thanks to the organization of DH World Cups and its proximity to the Commençal brand. Open from May to October, Vallnord offers 22 descent and freeride trails: 3 green, 6 blue, 9 red and 4 black. The station thus made the maximum of blue and red to satisfy a wide range of riders! The Vallnord estate also offers undergrowth and open spaces, moderate or large slopes as on the WC used for the World Cup or Cédric Gracia. Beginners will also find what to enjoy with affordable greens!

In addition to this, modern infrastructure and a large hotel offering are added. It should be noted that lodging and food are cheap in Andorra. In addition, the weather is rather clemency, and the season is quite long! For all these reasons, Vallnord is certainly one of the best places to do mountain bikes in the Pyrenees.

Saint-Lary

The sublime Pyrenees National Park is a great playground for mountain bike enthusiasts. In the heart of the mountains, the resort of Saint-Lary-Soulan has become one of the best destinations for mountain biking in the Pyrenees. The domain of Saint-Lary has a dozen downhill slopes. In addition to these, there are 7 routes marked and arranged in enduro, and several routes in four-cross or cross-country. All the tracks are concentrated on the altitude area. To reach them, Saint-Lary has the recent Bouleaux chairlift. It will allow you to enjoy a quick and comfortable way of transport to access the slopes of the estate, at 2200 meters above sea level.

On the slopes, the beginners will enjoy the Easy Rider blue track. It offers a brand new route with few slopes and some modules. You can then try the Spad Academy. This beautiful red track is perfect to progress and increase its level. For veterans, the Woodstock offers a winding and rhythmic path, with a trail in the middle of trees, corners, wooden modules and small jumps! The bikepark of Saint-Lary-Soulan is open from July 6 to August 25, 2019.

Pic du Midi / La Mongie

Located a few strokes from Lourdes, the Pic du Midi is certainly the most famous summit of the Pyrenees. Opened recently to the bikes, you will find the cable car to the Pic. From the top, 1,800 meters of denial await you. The first slopes take place on a lunar site, with rocks of any kind. Afterwards, 11 kilometers of little or not arranged itineraries will allow you to descend the peak. It should be noted that this descent is more about walking or hiking at certain times. On the way, you will fortunately find some more enlivened freeride routes! Enjoy your stay at the Pic du Midi to reach Luz-Saint-Sauveur. Guzet

Opened in 2013, Guzet gradually became one of the most beautiful resorts in the Ariegean Pyrenees. The domain of Guzet will allow you to evolve between chalets, fir trees and estives, with routes for beginners and confirmed. Ten descent trails await you: 2 green, 1 blue, 1 red, 1 black and 1 double black. The seasoned veterans will also be able to try the exceptional 3-kilometre marathon descent for 1000 meters. Finally, the small plus of the station is this stunning view of the magnificent Vallier massif. Note that the domain is open daily from 6 July to 1 September.

Cauterets

Located as its name suggests in the famous Cauterets Valley, this resort offers exceptional sports routes! In this incredible setting, two sectors await you in Cauterets. The first concerns the high-altitude trails with a start at 2,400 metres. They are accessible thanks to 2 lifts: the Barbat chairlift and the Lys cable car. The second includes all the paths and paths that descend to the village. In addition to the network of official trails, there are many secondary routes that decoup the station’s freeride potential!

On the track side, the mountain bikers will appreciate the linking of the Maouloc blue track with the descent to the village. From the Crêtes du Cirque du Lys to the bottom, there are 1,500 meters of denial for a solid enduro-descent course! On the way, a nice undergrowth course with modules awaits you. For its setting and trails for all levels, the Cauterets are among the best places to do mountain bikes in the Pyrenees.

Ax-les-Thermes

Located between the Ariegean Pyrenees and Catalans, the beautiful Ax-les-Thermes forest has become one of the best mountain bike areas in the region! The station has 8 tracks, including 1 green, 2 blue, 2 red and 3 black. Served by a chairlift, the estate will be happy with the novice and war veterans. On the track, the confirmed will appreciate the Artigue black track that winds in the undergrowth. Facilities, jumps and good land make it one of the best trails in the Pyrenees! Under the chairlift, the blues in the forests have no major difficulties or technical passages. They will allow beginners to practice before trying harder tracks! The domain is generally open from July to mid-September.

Grandvalira (Andorra)

The domain of Grandvalira – Soldeu is located in Andorra as Vallnord. Less known than its neighbour, the resort still houses an exceptional mountain bike area! Grandvalira has indeed built a rather dense network of tracks of all levels. It has 13 tracks, including 4 blacks, 3 reds, 4 blues and 2 greens on the only sector of Soldeu. The lovers of difficulty like the beginners will find their happiness in this mountainous area.

Luchon Superbagnères

Luchon Superbagnères is located not far from Saint-Lary-Soulan. You can thus pair your stay in one or the other resort with its neighbour. With 5 descent tracks and 2 enduros, Luchon Superbagnères is a nice resort to start the mountain bike or perfect. To reach the estate, located at altitude, you can borrow the cable car from Superbagnères. Four trails descending in enduro will then allow you to reach the village of Luchon.

While some lines lack layout on some portions, Superbagnères makes efforts every year to develop its offer. Thanks to its rapid lifts and an average height of 1200 metres, the resort is one of the best mountain bike locations in the Pyrenees. In addition, Luchon Superbagnères has an exceptional freeride potential. The confirmed profiles will thus have a superb playground to perfection! It should be noted that the domain generally opens from 29 June to 1 September.
