Created in 1989, the Regional Natural Park of the Balloons of the Vosges extends over three former regions: Alsace, Franche-Comté and Lorraine. Thanks to its 3,000 km2, it is one of the largest Natural Parks in France. In total, 14 summits culminate, the largest of which is the Grand Ballon d’Alsace, at 1,424 metres above sea level.
