It was in 1981, after visiting Disneyland in California, that Albert Uderzo planned the project to create an amusement park on the theme of Asterix. For 3 years, he worked with 5 other designers on the project and the design of the park. After an investment of about 130 million euros and 2 years of work, the park is inaugurated by Jack Lang , then Minister of Culture, April 27, 1989 and welcomes his first visitors on April 30, 1989.

The first years are a bit difficult, and it is from 1994 that the Asterix Park is finally profitable, with investments and better visitor management.

Since then, the park continues to innovate by setting up new attractions and shows every year!
