The Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake festival takes place on the last Monday of May of each year, next to Gloucester in England. It is traditionally organized by and for the inhabitants of the city of Brockworth but visitors from all over the world come to attend and even participate in it. His name comes from the hill on which the famous Cheese-Rolling , a double Gloucester cheese drop made home of 3.2 kg devalued the slope. In his pursuit, competitors wishing to bring the cheese back home provided they catch it, which happens not without injury (it happened often).

Hadaka Matsuri (naked man’s head)

An Hadaka Matsuri is a type of Japanese festival, or matsuri, in which participants wear very little clothes, in general only a Japanese pagne, sometimes with a happi , but rarely totally naked. This festival is organized in dozens of places throughout Japan each year, usually in summer or winter. The most famous festival is Saidai-ji Eyo Hadaka Matsuri which is held in Okayama, whose festival is native. Dating more than 500 years, some 9,000 men participate in this naked man’s party (Hadaka Matsuri). A Shinto priest throws a holy object (bâton, jewel) into the crowd at midnight and men must listen to it until one of them keeps him safe. Tradition wants that if the man “winner” keeps the stick in a wooden box with rice, he will be happy all year round. This is a very popular tradition in Okama.

The Monkey Buffet Festival takes place every year Thailand to promote tourism. While one might think this festival is a monkey buffet, it’s actually a buffet for monkeys. The number of macaque monkeys in Lopburi is so important that it would be considered a plague in almost any other place in the world. In Lopburi, however, they are venerated. Considered as the descendants of a war monkey, the macaques would bring “good fortune” according to the premises, and are allowed to move freely among humans. To pay tribute to these so-called sweet monkeys, a festival is organized every year with more than 2,000 kg of fruits, vegetables and other treats to offer a real feast to these monkeys.

This is one of the annual festivals in Spain the strangest that has taken place in the province of Burgos since 1621. During the festival, known as El Salto del Colacho (the devil's jump) or simply El Colacho men dressed in devil jump over babies born in the last twelve months and standing on mattresses in the street. The festival was classified as one of the most dangerous in the world. The origins of this tradition are not known but it would be in order to purify the babies of original sin, to provide them with protection in life against illness and evil spirits. This festival takes place on the first Sunday after the Feast-God (end of June).

Your wife or girlfriend cheated on you? If so, this festival can be of some interest to you. Every year, Rocca Canterano , a city outside Rome , famous Festa del Cornuto The Corne Festival. In Italian culture, horns represent a man who was deceived. This association would go back to the Roman Empire: many soldiers left to war for long periods received a pair of horns as a gift when they returned. However, they often learned that their wife cheated on them with another man while they were away. Thus, the term "hornuto" began to be linked to a deceived man. At the Rocca Canterano festival, the men who were injured by their half scroll through the streets, sometimes crying or breaking the objects that were offered to them by their former lover. The parade is intended to honour and comfort men.

Encierro de Pampelune (Feasts of San Fermín)

The bull race is part of the Fiesta de San Fermin held from July 6 to 14, each year. Basically, a group of nervous bulls is released, chasing people in the streets over 800 meters. The goal? Escape to the half-tone bulls each. Since this tradition (one encierro ) started in 1910, there were almost 300 wounded and 15 killed. Despite the physical danger that a bull can cause to a human being, especially during a bull race, these animals are highly respected among the Spanish people. The origin of this event comes from the need to carry the bulls out of the enclosures to the arenas where they are then killed in the evening. The young men ran among the bulls to show their bravery. The true origin of the race would have begun in the northeast of Spain at the beginning of the 14th century.

Roswell UFO Festival

The Roswell case concerns ground crushing, near Roswell in New Mexico ( United States ), in July 1947, a so-called alien spacecraft and its foreign occupants. The Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) indicated that a “flying disc” had been recovered from the scene. The following day, this statement was amended to indicate that a weather balloon had been found instead. This prompted an immediate controversy among the population, which most certainly believed that the aliens had landed and the government was then trying to hide the case. More than 60 years later, the debate continued. To celebrate this conviction that aliens landed on Earth in the city of Roswell, an annual parade is organized during which participants can dress up as alien costumes and attend short lectures given by experts on the subject. Whether you believe it or not, you are welcome every beginning of July.

The testicles festival (or Testy festy or Testicle Festival in English) is an event organized in several small cities in the United States in which animal testicles are consumed, usually well cooked. The oldest such festival takes place in Byron, Illinois, and offers turkey testicles. Similar festivals take place in Olean (Missouri), Oakdale (Californie), Huntley (Illinois) and Missoula (Montana), and some offer bull testicles .
