1. Chora
Visiting Serifos is beginning with Chora, the capital of the island. Renowned for its beauty, it is above all the authentic face of the place and seduces each encounter. In Chora, typical white houses and paved alleys invite you to the stroller, plunged into a postcard decor. Its terraces, its cafes, its small central square... The charm operates in every corner of the street!
Continue your walk in the direction of Kastro, the old castle of the city. At the end of the tortuous staircases, you fall nose to nose with the choir of Agios Konstantinos, a little wonder of the corner to discover outside the hours of messes. Then comes the Kastro: today in ruins, it still preserves a few remnants allowing to project at its times of glory. A must-see, the castle promises a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea and the rest of the archipelago.
2. The lighthouse of Serifos
Located south of the island, the Spathi lighthouse is a must for visiting Sérifos. Completed in 1901, it was just over 67 metres above the Aegean Sea. By passing its doors, you reach one of the most beautiful views of the island. At night, the green lantern of the dome adds even more magic to the show.
3. The beach and the church of Agios Sostis

4. The White Tower
During your stay, take the road between Livadi and Koutalas. On the way, you will cross the White Tower of Serifos. Also called Aspros Pirgos , she is a historical witness dressed in imposing stones.
Built in the fourth century BC, it was about 12 meters high. Most likely used as an observatory, it was used to protect old mines. A few centuries later, and for a reason still unknown, it was partly destroyed.
Today, Aspros Pirgos integrates the remains of the local heritage.
5. Winery of Chrysoloras
We told you above, visiting Sérifos is also going through its paths. Perfect hiking stop, the vineyard of Chrysoloras (Flaskos, Profitis Ilias, Serifos, 840 05, Greece) offers a gustative parenthesis! Chrysoloras and Eugenia, the owners, welcome you over 400 meters above sea level! On the menu, Serifiotiko subvariety wine (which produces 5,000 bottles per year) but also Anthorito, a soft paste cheese based on goat milk.
6. The beach of Avlomonas
In the continuity of the beach of Livaldi where the ferries arrive, the beach of Avlomonas is one of the first to discover on the island. Lined with many tamaris, it invites to pretence in the natural shade, feet in the sand or installed on a transat. The little plus? Its depth of 50 centimetres over a long distance, which makes it a perfect pataugeoire for the little ones! In particular, some restaurants and small shops invite you to share a meal or to discover a few souvenirs.
7. Folk Museum
Do you want to visit Sérifos through its traditions? So, go to the folklore museum of the island in Kato Hora. Founded in 1976 by the Association of Serifians, it was built according to the traditional Greek architecture. In addition to this unique architecture, it houses several collections retracing local history. Clothing, ceramics, tools, utensils and many other objects come to witness the past of the island. An archaeological collection from the classical, Romaic and Hellenistic era complements this cultural visit.
8. Panagia
The charm of Sérifos is also hidden in its villages. Among them, we invite you to discover the beautiful Panagia. Born in the 19th century, it was erected on a hill. Forming as an amphitheatre around the old village church, it is full of picturesque streets and beautiful views. ..

How to get to Serifos?
From France
Unfortunately there is no airport on the island of Serifos, so you can’t go directly from the largest European cities. At first you will have to reach Greece. From France, many flights are to Athens, so you can opt for a stop in the capital before joining Sérifos.
