1. La Maison Folio

This is certainly the number 1 site to see if you will visit Hell-Bourg. Located in the heart of the village, near the church, it was welcoming at the time when the thermal activity was booming, the governor of the island, and other rich Creole families.
This historic monument of colonial style and its tropical garden is an emblematic place of the village, which is accompanied by a guide, for a total immersion in the nineteenth century.
2. The Iron Trou

For lovers, from beginners to the most seasoned, many hikes are possible from Hell-Bourg.
Three cascades
This hike is very short (2.5km), but still requires a great effort because of a rather steep climb to reach the waterfalls. While compared to other waterfalls in La Réunion, these are not the most impressive. But the site is still very pleasant.
Snowshoe
It’s the highest summit on the island of the Reunion and the Indian Ocean, so if there’s one to do, that’s it! Perched at 3069 meters above sea level, this inactive volcano is located between the three circus of the island of the meeting: Cilaos, Mafate and Salazie.

Forest of Bélouve
This preserved primary forest is accessible via a rather technical hike from Hell-Bourg. But the game is largely worth the candle. Its sumptuous, dense and varied vegetation makes it an exceptional place at the meeting. The Bélouve Forest is also known for the cultivation of its "Tamarin" wood.

5 kilometers from Hell Bourg, discover the Sail of the Bride, one of the most famous waterfalls on the island. You can admire this impressive waterfall from the observation parking lot, or get a little closer by taking a fairly easy path.

Located less than 2 kilometers from Hell Bourg, don’t miss Mare with a hen of water and its superb water plan. A peaceful and beautiful place, where you will cross a few sinners, and of course the chickens of water, which gave their name to the site.
How to go to Hell-Bourg?

- By plane : even if the island has 2 airports, you will certainly arrive at Roland Garros International Airport, which falls very well because it is also the closest to Hell-Bourg. It is located 47 km from the village (1 hour drive approximately). Rates can vary from single to double depending on the airline. - By car : to reach the village of Hell-Bourg from the airport, you can easily reach rent a car. The offer is important and the rates are therefore very competitive. Go along the coast by the N22, then fork in the land following the D48 to the village.
- By bus : from Saint Denis, you will have to arm yourself with patience and above all to make the schedules coincide to get to Hell Bourg by bus. You will first have to take a bus to Saint André bus station (E1, E3 or E4). From there you will take another bus to Salazie, and finally take line 83 to Hell-Bourg.
