1. The Saut-du-Doubs by the Châtelot Bar

In the heart of Jura, the Doubs jump represents the most famous site in the region. At the border between France and Switzerland, you will be amazed by this spectacular stunt that stretches with fracas 40 meters below by offering you a truly impressive visual and soundscape!
This pretty easy and accessible loop will lead you to the Gorges du Doubs by overlooking the entire regional park. The hike will offer great views while guiding you to the famous Saut-du-Doubs before arriving at the Châtelot Dam. From the top of its 74 meters, it pours into Lake Moron making you enjoy a wonderful show.
To attend this show of water, you will have to brave impressive stairways, former French and Swiss smugglers. The hike can be made in 4 good hours, but we invite you to plan the day to delight you from the place.
Between lush vegetation and limestone walls with the Doubs watercourse in the backdrop, no doubt, this hike will delight the eyes of the little and old!
2. The Château de Joux

The Château de Joux represents a must-see during a stay in the Doubs. In charge of History, this stone fortress overlooks the cluse of Pontarlier since the year thousand. The hike will give you access to beautiful views and the building aspires to ease, only surrounded by a majestic nature lady.
With a little luck, you may be able to see some chamois in the middle of these postcard landscapes. There is no doubt that the Château de Joux will make you travel through the steep time between nature, architecture, history, myths and legends.
Good to know: the fortress visits with the accompaniment of a guide. Between frascos, tragic fates and military stories, the Château de Joux will no longer have any secret for you.
3. Les Sources d’Arcier

At the gates of the city of Besançon, Les Sources d’Arcier have since 1912 been integrated into the “Doubs classified sites”. Timeless, they feed the city from the Gallo-Roman era. You will find in this hike greens and muddy waters, the ideal to admire nature in a bucolic setting.
The undergrowth trail will allow you to find freshness and wooded air in the summer. The hike does not encounter any particular difficulties if it is not to provide good shoes to avoid slippers. Easy and accessible, it is perfectly suited to a family trip during a weekend or during a stay in the Doubs.
4. The Frasne Trail

The Frasne Tourbières Trail, a symbol of the Drugeon Basin, is an original and atypical place that has not yet revealed all its mysteries. Featuring an unprecedented biodiversity, this natural reserve represents the largest wetland in France.
The hike is arranged and the site is perfect for learning. If you are looking for a change without making too much effort, it is on the trail of the Tourbières de Frasne that you have to go.
5. La Boucle Malbuisson via La Cotelle

Now go to discover the famous blue source through the Malbuisson loop. In addition to admiring this clear water, you will also find many views of Lake Saint Point.
The circuit crosses between meadow, fir forest and lake edge so you will no longer know where to give head. The hike is rather short but the diversity of its landscapes is breathtaking and the wooded passages are also very appreciable in the summer.
Good to know: The best season to achieve the loop extends from April to October.
6. The Consolation Route via Maisonnettes

The Consolation-house road will take you straight to Cirque de la Consolation. Located in a remote Jura massif, the landscapes present on this hike in the Doubs are typical of the region and really worth a look. The gentle noise of the stream will guide your steps in a unique and soothing setting. You will first cross the forest before you reach the Lançot waterfall.
Then, a little further, you will witness the highlight of the show: the source of the Stool. From the height of its 47 meters, the spectacular landscape is guaranteed! Between steep walls, waterfalls and forests, this picturesque hike can only charm you.
7. The Tour du Morond by the Crêtes and Mont d’Or by the Falaises

With an altitude of 1,463 metres in the Haute-Chaîne region, Mont d’Or is one of the most famous summits in the Jura region. Accessible by the Morond loop, the trail runs along its spectacular cliffs and is a true paradise for hikers.
Mountain landscapes and views of the region are not missing, whether they are the ridges of the Morond or the cliffs of Mont d’Or. In clear weather, you can even see the different summits of the Swiss Alps as well as the Mont-Blanc .
Nature is wild and unspoiled, allowing you to enjoy the hike to the bells of the cow herds. If you’re looking for the most spectacular panorama of the Doubs, it’s probably the peaks around the Morond that you’ll have to go.

8. The Lison Source and the Sarrazine Cave

A true haven of peace in the heart of the Doubs, the source of the Lison represents a must if you are passing through the Jura. Taking its source in the village of Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne and surmounted by an impressive rocky wall, this sublime waterfall is visited both in winter and summer.
You can also enjoy the place to observe some rare or endangered species of birds. Once the source of the Lison surpasses, the wild and intimate atmosphere of this loop will lead you after a few minutes of ascent to the Saracen cave. His origin? The Lison River has risen a path directly into a limestone plateau!
Do not hesitate to bring you a flashlight to continue its exploration. It is undoubtedly a hike that is conducive to the delectation of nature, to the observation of its fauna and a historical journey in time.

Between alpine pastures, huge spruce forests and fir trees, it is on the Franco-Swiss border that we take you now. This hike in the Doubs starts in the village of the Fourgs also named the roof of the Haut-Doubs. It presents little difficulty and alternates landscapes of nature, typical villages and historical places.
Still preserved from mass tourism, the hike is absolutely worth a visit and is a secret well guarded by the villagers of the Fourgs.
