Grand Classique, the Lac Blanc hike represents the emblem of Haute-Savoie and Chamonix. As well known as the white wolf, this altitude lake of the Red Aiguilles massif will make you discover a grandiose world of high mountain. And if many trails allow you to get there, the mountain is not known for its ease.

1. Lac Blanc and the Glière Index via Flégère

For an easy hike that allows you to reach the famous Lac Blanc, we offer you the start of the cable car trail. This very popular hike in the Natural Reserve of the Red Aiguilles will allow you from the chairlift of the Flégère, to reach Praz de Chamonix before reaching the famous Lac Blanc.
And during the ascension and the arrival at the lake, it is a true panorama of high mountain that will stand before you. Between Mont-Blanc In the background canvas, L’Aiguillette-D’Argentière, la Mer de Glace, la Grandes Jorasses and the Aiguille du Midi... It’s simply grand!
And before you start your redescent, the trail will also bring you closer to the Glière Index. Located more than 2,595 metres above sea level, this rocky wall is the paradise for climbing, but also a playground for mountaineering enthusiasts.
This route represents the hike at exceptional points of view for those who wish to discover the Lac Blanc in the family without undergoing too much denial.
2. Lac Blanc and the Cheserys Lakes since Flégère

Ideal for a half-day discovery of Lac Blanc, this route very similar to the previous one will be born at the Flégère cable car level. Faced with the Massif du Mont-Blanc and the Aiguille de Chamonix, you will then climb to Lac Blanc and its refuge.
This route will allow you to have a constant view of the Mont Blanc during the climb, which remains very motivating. Once you arrive, take the time to stroll around the lake and why not enjoy a gourmet or refreshing stop at the Lac Blanc hut nearby.
On your redescent, the path will lead you to the beautiful lakes of Chéserys. Accessible to all, it is an excellent compromise to discover Lac Blanc in the family, without having to borrow the more technical portions present on the massif.
3. Lac Blanc by the Col des Montets

Let's explore the region without a cable car with this circuit taking Col des Montets. Behind the chalet of the nature reserve, the trail climbs in lacet before reaching the beautiful plateau of Remuaz. By continuing the ascent, you will then cross the beautiful lakes of Cheserys.
The finish is approaching, but to reach it you will have to face a last climb. Once realized, you can then contemplate the sublime view of Lake Blanc and its refuge.
More sporty than others, this hike is a beautiful playground for hiking enthusiasts. With stunning views of the Massif du Mont-Blanc, it offers from the beginning to the end of exceptional landscapes.
4. White Lake from the Great South Balcony

For a simple, quick and efficient hike: follow the path of Lake Blanc. On this route you will use the cable car on the first portion before making a straight line towards Lac Blanc and its refuge.
Once you arrive at your destination, you will then enjoy a breathtaking view in front of Mont Blanc, the Sea de Glace, the Grandes Jorasses and the Aiguille du Midi, it is simply a magnificent view. And if the bravest can then venture to Cheserys lakes, the path leads you back to the starting point.
If you have little time or want to make a hike with young children, this is the ideal trail.
5. Lac Blanc via the Grand Balcon Sud

More sporty this time, another alternative to discover Lac Blanc is to start the hike from the Flégère before reaching the Lacs de Chéserys and Lac Blanc by the Grand Balcon Sud.
If climbing requires a good physical condition, it is also possible to cut the first part or at least shorten it by borrowing the cable car from the Flégère. Few ladders are present on the course.
Similarly, you will find exceptional views of Mont Blanc on the whole trail, not to mention the arrival and its magnificent view of the surrounding summits. A feast for the eyes!
6. Lac Blanc en Boucle by Très-le-Champs

The last alternative we offer to discover the Lac Blanc is made at the departure of Very the Champ. The route is perfectly indicated by the same opportunity to borrow portions of the Grand Tour du Mont Blanc. After a first visit to the forest you will then reach the Aiguillette d’Argentière where the routes with the ladders start.
If the moment promises to be magical for lovers of strong sensations, it will be much less for people subject to vertigo for which this trail remains unadvised. Ascension continues, you will then reach the Cheserys lakes before reaching the famous Lac Blanc and its refuge.
We repeat it, but the panorama is exceptional. Between Aiguilles rouge, Grandes Jorasses, Mont-BLanc, Mer de Glace, noon needles, it is an explosion of mountain views that awaits you on arrival. Uncontournable in the Aiguilles Rouge massif, you cannot miss the beauty of Lac Blanc.
