1. Pico de Las Nieves – Degollada de Los Hornos

Among the hikes in Gran Canaria, this one is one of the most travelled. Located in the centre of the island, the first part of the trail, from Las Mesas to the Díaz Bertrana refuge, offers beautiful views. From the refuge in Degollada de Piedras Blancas, you will enjoy the shade in the middle of a pine forest.
The last part, in constant climb, takes you to the Pico de las Nieves, the highest point of the island. From above, the panorama is breathtaking! If the temperature is ideal, it is the perfect place to take a little break or a picnic. The return passes by Degollada de los Hornos and ends at the starting point. Located close to the previous one, this hike in Gran Canaria is difficult as long and with a rather important gap. If it is not necessary to be a high-level athlete, there must be a certain physical condition. A true little trek in Gran Canaria, the trail takes you from top to top around the Pico de la Nieve, including the amazing El Fraile rock.
