Discover the blue city
When we think about Rajasthan, the images that come to our minds are often scenes of life of the Maharajas, colors, spices, palaces and forts ever bigger... An image that particularly reflects the city Jodhpur also called the "blue city".
Located in the North of the India , more precisely in Rajasthan, Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha to replace the former capital, Mandore, who became too vulnerable.

It was only 5 centuries later that the maharaja Umaid Singh undertook the construction of one of the largest and largest private homes in the world, the sumptuous Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel, to fight famine and create jobs.
The other symbol of Jodhpur is undoubtedly its strong. The Fort de Mehrangarh sits on a huge 120-metre rock overlooking the city and looks almost straight out of a cinema scenery so imposing and drowned in the landscape!

These historic buildings perfectly reflect the image of Rajasthan, but travellers to Jodhpur also come to discover its blue façades!
A blue that fascinates and hypnotizes by its intensity. A pure blue that once made it possible to distinguish the houses belonging to the caste from the Brahmanes. The blue also allows and above all today to protect the inhabitants of the heat and to push the mosquitoes.

Besides its uses, the blue of this city is enchanting! Each photograph of these coloured facades reflects the identity of India as a whole. A trip to Jodhpur is also the symbol of a journey in time. The blue city is also nicknamed “the city of the sun” thanks to the exceptional sunshine which it enjoys almost throughout the year, here’s another reason to discover one of the most beautiful cities in the country!
