The Città Vecchia is a testimony of the past of Taranto, from the time of Grande-Greece, and the spartans. The oldest part of the city can sometimes seem worn out by time. Logging in the more modern Taranto (or Borgo Nuovo) will allow you to stay close to the old town, while enjoying the dynamics of Borgo Nuovo. In this area you will be on site to visit the famous National Archaeological Museum of Taranto or MarTa.

From this neighborhood you can also see from another angle the famous Girevole bridge, which is emblematic of the city and which joins the Città Vecchia. You can stroll around the most popular pedestrian and shopping areas, such as Via d’Aquillo or Via de Palma. Not to mention, of course, walking on the Lungomare Victor Emanuel III, facing the Ionian Sea.

South of Taranto

If you want to visit Taranto, then enjoy the beaches, you can choose a accommodation in the south of the city. Along the coast you will find a wide choice of accommodation, hotels, guest rooms, Airbnb and even campsites. Some are just steps away from the beaches and others a little further away.

From Tarente, the SS99 road allows you to descend to Praia A Mare. There is an interesting panel of accommodation, close to amenities. We can also get down on the south tip in Capo San Vito. Want a relaxing stay and explore the surroundings of Tarente? For this, you can also find a point of fall on the eastern edge of the city to discover the Salento. On the outskirts will be more economical, and if you have a vehicle, you can easily move around.

The suburb is/sou-est is a good compromise. Indeed, you can visit Taranto, go south to the beaches, but also visit the surroundings. You can visit the small neighbouring villages such as Grottaglie, the city of ceramics. But also the Tarentine Murge region and the coast.
