Casco Urbano Central
The Casco Urbano Central is in fact the historic center of La Paz – El Centro - , located around the Place Murillo. This square is emblematic of the city -known to accommodate thousands of pigeons at the foot of Notre-Dame Basilica Cathedral, the Catedral Basilica Nuestra Señora de La Paz . Incontournable tourists, Place Murillo and the historic centre of La Paz are also part of the crossing points of the guided tours : most often accompanied by a local, visitors like to discover them, before diving into the arteries of the old town.
Street Potosi is one of the shopping arteries of the neighborhood, there are countless shops where to shop, countless cheap hotels and hostels where to sleep in La Paz, restaurants, travel agencies, etc. Going up the streets with lace knots and labyrinths, don’t miss the National Art Museum, the Museum Costumbrista , the ethnographic museum and the museum of musical instruments to reach the Calle Jaén, a vestige of the Spanish colonial district. Sopocachi
Want to stay in La Paz in a comfortable or even very chic area? Sopocachi is the busy neighborhood of the Bolivian capital. The streets are gridded as in a city of Spain or United States , and the neighborhood is much quieter than the city centre: it is the business district, so rather active in the day and quiet in the evening and during the weekends. Here again, an incommensurable amount of restaurants, bars and small taverns allow you to eat for cheap and drink a drink in the middle of a rather trendy crowd. A relaxed and bohemian atmosphere reigns in master over the neighborhood, an ideal, young and tourist area where to stay in La Paz.

Located between El Centro and Sopocachi, it is not the safest neighborhood to sleep in La Paz but it is a middle class area, ideal for enjoying the tourist attractions of the centre and for going to party in Sopocachi, being far from mass tourism. Zona Sur
Travelers small budget, fuyez : Zona Sur is the easy and rich neighborhood of La Paz. Located far from the city centre to the south, it is a huge neighbourhood of the Bolivian elite and a third of the La Paz population. There are few tourist attractions but everything you need to live a comfortable life, in bourgeois, calm and clean residences. This area where to stay in La Paz also has many discotheques, restaurants and high-end bars.
