The largest and most populous city in Scotland, Glasgow is the third largest city in the United Kingdom with a total population of 606,340 (2015) and 2.3 million inhabitants throughout the urban conurbation. It is one of the most important financial centres in Europe, and the 44th city in the world in terms of infrastructure quality. Glasgow has been trying for more than half a century to undo its popular and mining city label by claiming a festive, attractive, vibrant, burning city identity.

Glasgow is often abandoned by tourists to Edinburgh, yet many will say that it is more authentic than the capital. However, the city is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, with its many concerts in the bars and countless pubs in the city: in 2008, UNESCO ranked it as a “city of music”. North West

North of the Clyde River and north-west of the city centre, North West, with everything you need to enjoy a Scottish city: green spaces – including the Ruchill Park and the famous Botanical Garden of Glasgow, pubs and bars, countless international cuisine restaurants. West End

Located west of the city, this is where the main part of Glasgow’s social activity is located. The district is home to the University of Glasgow – where the famous economist Adam Smith and James Watt, the father of the Industrial Revolution – and also has large green spaces, like the Kelvingrove Park. East End

Located as its name suggests in the east of the city, East End is a neighborhood where to sleep in Glasgow if you love residential areas and less frequented than the city center while being close to it: you have a lot more than 150 € per night, on the other hand, to stay at the hotel. It is, however, a popular area where the former workers’ and industrial past is still visible. Passing to East End, take advantage of it to make an incursion in the city centre and to explore the historic buildings of Glasgow: Glasgow Cathedral, Necropolis Cemetery, enjoy a pint in a pub or relax at Drumpellier Country Park.
