South of the neighborhood, don't miss the famous Beguinage : separated from the city by a wall of enclosure once surrounded by doves, it is a former convent of the 13th century. A small area in the north-east of the city centre, the area is less frequented by tourists and therefore more authentic. The streets are no less picturesque, between medieval churches and canals. Where to sleep in Bruges, the time for a one or two-night stay? Located southwest of the historic centre, the sector of the Central station favour small budgets.

In 15 minutes, you can access the heart of Bruges, without having to pay your accommodation at the high price. It is also a good compromise if you have to take the train back without losing time or simply park your car without too much trouble. Here, traffic is actually less dense, so you can park your car more easily: to reach the centre of Bruges, you will only have to take the bus (pass every five minutes at the train station).

By the lake (Minnewater)

If it does not enjoy as many green spaces as the lake of lovers, the western district of Bruges promises as many surprises. If you opt for accommodation in the area, know already that it is renowned for its living environment and its warm side: with its small houses stuck to each other, its cafes and restaurants, it gives a certain authenticity that seduces at first glance. Very lively, it is a neighborhood that hardly ever sleeps, so you will not be in the calm flat if you choose it as a foot down.

Your benchmark? Saint-Sauveur Cathedral around which all homes in the western sector are installed. Parts and others of the monument therefore, have fun strolling through the alleys, leaving you to lose (you will never really be reassured) because it is in this little labyrinth that nest pretty heritage pepits. In particular, by choosing your accommodation here, you have a privileged access to all the highlights of the Bruges: five minutes’ walk will be enough to reach the centre, and you’re only a dozen minutes away from the train station!
