Olympique de Marseille was created in August 1899 by René Dufaure de Montmirail . The club is also called OM or Olympians. The club has the most beautiful French championships, with 9 French championships, 10 Coupes de France, 3 Coupes de la Ligue. But the most beautiful trophy of the WMO is the Champions League, won in 1993. The only one in the history of French football.

If the OM started playing at the Stade de l’Huveaune, since 1937 the team has played at the Stade Vélodrome, which has recently become the Orange Vélodrome. The stadium was renovated four times, in 1971, in 1983, in 1998 and in 2014. Now, the capacity of Vel is 67,000 seats. This is the largest club stadium in France, which is not a surprise since the club has a fan base far above the Provençal borders.
