Drivy — car rental between people
At a time when the collaborative economy is taking on an incredible scale, the concept of this decade is self-sharing or car rental in particular! His model? Amortize the use of a vehicle by allowing its use by different drivers in turn. Just like Airbnb for housing, it is now simple and easy to rent a car for a short time, in all the cities of France.
The Drivy site, a European leader in this market, is perfect for this wave. This model has double efficiency: it allows tenants to rent a car easily and at far lower rates than a professional vehicle rental provider, and owners to obtain additional income or simply finance a vehicle that does not use it all the time.
But how does Drivy work? What are the pros and cons? The Wanderlix editor looked at all these questions: review and test, this is our Drivy magazine!

♪ 2010 , Paulin Dementhon — young French entrepreneur — decides to launch his start-up to facilitate the rental of vehicles between individuals on the Internet. Named at the very beginning Carlib, it becomes Drivy en 2013 . The concept is simple and the speech is well-kept: “to rent a car that is used only occasionally, it is the possibility of obtaining a supplementary income that allows the owner to return to his expenses.”
With Drivy, from an application or the website, owners can share their vehicles and drivers, access self-service vehicles around them. Since 2016, Drivy has grown even more and has a more varied fleet of vehicles, combining now professional and private owners, but without increasing its rates. With its success, Drivy is available in 6 European countries : in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
Today, Drivy counts 130 employees , offers more 50,000 cars in Europe and connects more 2 million users ! For an even greater growth goal, Drivy was redeemed in April 2019 by Getaround , an American self-sharing platform. For now, Drivy doesn't change his name, but it should be late...

Drivy: the opinion of the editor
Claire, simple, useful and effective. Here are the 4 words that define this car rental site between people, according to our opinion and test! Drivy is leader in the rental market car between people and it is not for nothing. At Wanderlix, we love this principle of self-sharing and collaborative economy.
Just like Airbnb, this concept is part of our lives and not just our holidays! Costs related to the possession of a vehicle may be important and this is a practical means for maintenance . Especially when you don’t use it every day!
Forcedly, it is preferable to reside in the city or tourist area to enjoy a rich offer and demand. If you are located at the end of the Creuse, maybe you won't have to rely on that to finance your next vacation.
On holiday or simply on a last minute exit, in a few clicks, you can rent a car near you. That’s what we love: simplicity driving freedom!
