There is first Old Square of New Orleans which has a so French architecture with its wrought iron balconies, its small gardens.
♪ River Road plantations are a place to be discovered, especially for the fantastic homes that remain, of which a dozen even open their doors. A Vacherie , small village located along the river on Route 3127, it is the place to visit another beautiful plantation that is Laura Plantation built in 1804 by Senegalese slaves. In the 350 plantations which then flourished on the banks of the Mississippi, you will not fail to be astonished and marvelled at once.
The small town Saint Francisville contains 150 historic buildings that are beautiful shrines of so-called "antebellum", i.e. dating before the Secession War. Other surrounding cities are also to be discovered as Breaux Bridge (Le Pont Breaux), known to be the world capital of the crayfish, Eunice, Sam Houston State Park, etc...
