As in many Italian cities, stationing in Milan can quickly become a real course of the fighter: specific rules, urban toll, lack of places, here are the different solutions to find easily a cheap car park in Milan.

Located north of Italy, Milan has at first sight not the charm of its elegant neighbors Bologna, Genoa or Turin. And yet, it is enough to take a few steps to realize its grandeur: grandiose architecture, vibrant cultural life with the famous Scala theatre and of course a devouring passion for ready-to-wear and luxury, which made it the capital of fashion and design.

But as in all major Italian cities, to park in Milan is not easy: to an important traffic is added many very specific parking rules that can quickly deceive the uninitiated. So if you don't want to spend hours running around in the city, here are some small tips to find easily a car park in Milan.

Once is not custom, Milan also has a very pointed parking system to know before leaving, history of not spending hours looking for a place in vain. The first thing to know is the deciphering of the marking on the ground, with three distinct colors.

Places delimited by the white traits are precious then if you cross one, don’t hesitate anymore: they are free and therefore even more rare. Conversely, blue marking indicates that you are on a paid and limited location over time. I mean, yellow seats are exclusively reserved for residents who hold a pass, « Pass per la sosta di residenti e dimoranti » .

Regarding the rates to park in Milan, everything depends on the areas where you choose to park. The first area, Area C, corresponds to the historic centre. To get there, you will have to pay an urban toll of 5€. Then count about 2€/hour for the first two hours and 3€/hour the following hours, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. knowing that if you park at night, you will only pay the first two hours. The more you get away from the city center, the more affordable the places are: about €1.20/hour in the second area and €0.80 in the third.

All Milanese will tell you: the traffic in the city is so dense that it can very quickly make you lose your head. And to park in Milan without spending a small fortune, Wanderlix recommends using the car parks managed by ATM. To date, 21 car parks are registered throughout the city, with the advantage of being placed next to public transport: metros, stations or airport. What gives you the opportunity to stroll through the streets of Milan without stress.

In general, ATM parking is cheap car parks in Milan: about 1,50€/hour. Subscriptions are also offered at very correct prices: the parking lot located at the Cascina Gobba Metro Station has a subscription to 8,50€ per week with the possibility to park there every day between 6am and 2am, while the parking lot close to the Cologno Nord Metro Station offers a subscription to 6€ per week. A real cheap car park in Milan for those who would stay there several weeks.

Other good cheap car park in Milan: the ParkIN Linate car park, ideally located close to the Milan Linate airport with real degressive rates. Count 2€ for 1h, 4€ for 4h, 10€ for 1 day, 18€ for 2 days and 42€ for the week.

For private parking, prices are often higher: the hourly rate can sometimes reach up to 5€! But if you need to park in the city centre to discover the city on foot, private parking is a convenient and safe solution.

Ideally located close to the beach Dôme de Milan , architectural wonder of the city, parking Autosila Diaz offers an hourly rate of 3€ but the day is 25€. Same fare for parking Car Central Parking , close to the University of Milan, at 25€ a day.
